文檔簡(jiǎn)介

What is a womens dress code for interviewing?Basically, with all the differences in dress codes at different organizations, it would be impossible to come up with the outfit for all employers. In this case, men have it easier; a suit works everywhere (dress it up with a tie, dress it down by taking the tie off and opening a collar). For women, the issues are more problematic. Go for the more business-like attire. Avoid flashy colors, bold prints or clanking jewelry; dont look fussy. Pick something that you are comfortable in; no tugging or re-adjusting when you sit. Carry an efficient folder or case for your resume and/or work samples. No low-cut and tight shirts. Check for seam rips, runs in stockings and missing buttons. Pick your outfit ahead of time then forget about it-think about selling your skills, not your wardrobe. Questions To Ask the Interviewer Good topics to touch on include: the competitive environment in which the organization operates executive management styles what obstacles the organization anticipates in meeting its goals how the organizations goals have changed over the past three to five years. The following questions would be most appropriate to show genuine interest: 1. What are the main objectives and responsibilities of the position? 2. How does the company expect these objectives to be met? 3. What obstacles are commonly encountered in reaching these objectives? 4. What resources are available from the company and what must be found elsewhere to reach the objectives? Preparation Know how to keep yourself calm, cool, and confident. The best way to do this is to be prepared! Research the company. Research the interviewer, if possible. Know why you want the job. Identify your wants and your needsand know the difference! Be able to express, specifically, the skills you have to offer the organization. Be prepared for the standard interview questions and know your answers to them. Presentation Find out the standard dress for the organization. Dress on the conservative side. Arrive early. Bring extra resumes, notepad, pen. Be polite to everyone you meet there. They all count. Be personable as well as professional. Do not chew gum, smoke, swear or use slang. Be aware of body language, reactions. Assume all questions are asked for a good reason and answer accordingly. Feel free to ask for clarification before answering a question. Answer all questions honestly, but in the best, most positive light. Do not bad mouth/say bad words about old employers.Interview Tips 1. Enter into a state of relaxed concentration. 2. Act spontaneous, but be well prepared. 3. Set goals for the interview. 4. Follow up with an effective thank you letter. 5. Watch those nonverbal clues. 6. Be smart about money questions. 7. State your previous experience in the most positive terms. Quirky Questions Interviewers Ask 1. What are you reading lately? 2. What are your weaknesses? 3Why are you here today? 4. Would you rather be a small fish in a big pond or a big fish in a small pond? A big fish in a small pond - I own the pond, but there is nothing left to conquer. A small fish in a big pond - There is plenty of opportunity to succeed! General questions Interviewers AskTell me about yourself. - Use your resume summary as a base to start.Keep your answer to one or two minutes and include a description of where you have been recently as well as what you would like to do next. Second, after you made you brief comment, either be quiet or close with, Is there anything you would like me to add. Or, Is that what you were hoping I would provide? Third, listen carefully to the feedback to see if your answer was not sufficient, so that you might learn what specifically the interviewer would like you to add. Finally, ask Have I answered your question/issue/concern? Then listen again. What do you know about our company? Why do you want to work for us? What would you do for us? What can you do for us that someone else cant? What about the job offered you find the most attractive? And least attractive? Why should we hire you? What do you look for in a job? How long would you stay with us?Can you work under pressures, deadlines, etc.? How much are you looking for? / How much do you expect, if we offer this position to you? What kind of salary are you worth? How would you describe the essence of success? According to your definition of success, how successful have you been so far? Remember: The better
