(P50) 她不小心地把窗臺上的花瓶撞倒了。 She was busy complaining, so she gave me an extra ten-yuan note in my change by mistake. (P50) 她正忙于抱怨,所以不小心多找了一張十元的錢給我。解析:(1) by accident“偶然
3、地,不小心地”;by mistake “錯誤地,不小心地”。兩個短語都有“不小心”的含義,經(jīng)??梢曰ビ?,但by accident強(qiáng)調(diào)偶然性,by mistake強(qiáng)調(diào)錯誤性。例如:I drove my car into his by accident. 我的車不小心撞到了他的車。He took my book by mistake. 他錯拿了我的書。2. a ten-yuan note “一張十元的紙幣”。 英語里常用“數(shù)字-名詞”或“數(shù)字-名詞-形容詞”的結(jié)構(gòu)作定語,注意這兩個結(jié)構(gòu)里的名詞要用單數(shù)形式。如: a 3-week holiday “三周的假期”; 5-minute walk“五分鐘
4、的步行”; a 7-year-old boy“一個七歲的男孩”。be busy doing sth=be busy with sth 忙于做某事。3.We learnt the police had been to the flats and questioned everyone about the pot . 我們得知警察來了公寓詢問每個人關(guān)于花盆的事情。question sb. about sth 詢問某人某事,此處question 用作動詞?!眷柟叹毩?xí)】一、根據(jù)漢語意思完成句子。1. 他切面包時不小心切到了手指。He cut his finger _ _ when he was cut

(P52) 你可將它作為證據(jù)來證明發(fā)生了什么事。解析:(1) go on在此句意為“(事件等)發(fā)生”,不用被動語態(tài),可與happen、take place互換。例如:It seems that the play will
10、 go on. 好象戲劇要開始了。(2) go on 還有“繼續(xù)”之意,常用句型有:go on doing sth “繼續(xù)做某事”(不停地做同一件事情)。例如: He went on working without taking a rest. 他一直工作,沒有休息。go on with sth “繼續(xù)做某事”(停下來之后繼續(xù)做同一件事情)。例如: It's too late. Shall we go on with our talk tomorrow? 太晚了,我們明天繼續(xù)談好嗎?【鞏固練習(xí)】根據(jù)中文意思完成句子。1. 他感到很不安,因為他打破了鄰居家的窗戶。He _ _ _ , b
