白巖松耶魯大學(xué)演講稿翻譯稿白巖松耶魯大學(xué)演講稿翻譯稿白巖松耶魯大學(xué)演講稿翻譯稿資料僅供參考文件編號(hào)：2022年4月白巖松耶魯大學(xué)演講稿翻譯稿版本號(hào)：A修改號(hào)：1頁(yè)次：1.0審核：批準(zhǔn):發(fā)布日期：MyStoryandtheChineseDreamBehindItInthepasttwentyyears,ChinahasfacedthreeAmericanpresidents,buttillcomingtoYaletoday,IneverrealizedthatChinareallyjustfacedoneuniversity.Although,throughthesethreepresidents,IunderstandthatthequalityofYalegraduatesisnotsoeven.Letmebeginmymainsubjectandletmegiveitatitle,called“MyStoryandtheChineseDreamBehindIt”.Iwanttotalkaboutfiveparticularyears.Thefirstis1968.ThatyearIwasborn.Butitwasalsoachaoticyearfortheworld.InFrance,therewasthishugestreetdisturbance,andinAmerica,too.ThenPresidentKennedywasassassinated.However,Ireallydidnotcauseallofthese!ButthatyearwhatweremembermorewastheassassinationofMr.MartinLutherKing.Althoughhefellthatyear,hiswords“Ihaveadream”stoodup,notonlystoodupinAmerica,butacrossthewholeworld.Butsadly,notonlyforme,butforalmostallChinese,wedidnotknowsuchadream.ItwashardtodescribeeachChineseashavinghisorherowndream.ChinaandAmericaweresofarapart,nolessfarapartthantheMoonandtheEarth.ButIdidn’tcareaboutanyofthat.AllIcaredaboutwascouldIhaveafullmeal.Clearly,Iwasbornataveryinconvenienttime,notonlyforChina,butevenfortheworld,therewereproblems.In1978,tenyearslater,Iwas10.Istilllivedintheverylittlecitythathadonly200thousandpeopleatthetimeIwasborn.Itwas2000kmfromBeijing.IfyouwantedtoreadthenewspaperfromBeijing,youwaitedthreedays.Soforus,therewasnosuchthingasnews.Thatyearmygrandfatherpassedaway.Twoyearsbeforethatmyfatherpassedaway.Sotherewasjustmymotherlefttotakecareofmeandmybrother.Hermonthlysalarywasnoteventendollars.Asaresult,eventhoughIwas10,theword“dream”wasstillnotinmyvocabulary,andIwouldneverthinkofit.Icouldnotseehopeinthisfamily,butonlyfeltbittercoldeverywinter.WherewelivedwasclosetotheSovietUnion.Yetthe1978inwhichIcouldnotseehopewasalsotheyearthatahugechangetookplace,whetherforChinaorfortherelationshipbetweenChinaandAmerica.Thatisadatethateverybodyheretodayshouldremember.December16,1978,ChinaandAmericaofficiallyestablisheddiplomaticrelations.Thatwasabigevent.Andtwodaysafterthat,December18waswhenChinaopenedthe3rdPlenarySessionoftheEleventhCPCCentralCommittee.Thatwasthebeginningofthirty-oneyearsofReformandOpening.History,twogreatnations,andaverypitifulfamilyallbecameintertwinedinatheatricalway.Truthfully,fromthesmallpersonalfamily,tothebigfamilyofthecountry,nobodythenhadanyideawhatthefuturewouldbelike.In1988,Iwas20.AtthistimeIhadalreadycomeoutofthelittlebordertowntoBeijingasauniversitystudent.AlthoughwehavemanypeopleinChinatodaycriticizingChina’suniversityentranceexamsandseemanymanydeficienciesinit,itmustbesaidthatitissuchasystemthatallowedveryordinarypeoplelikemetohavetheopportunitytochangeourlives.Ofcourse,atthattime,Americawasnolongeraverydistantcountry.Itbecameveryspecific.Itwasnolongerthe“ImperialistAmerica”ofthepastslogans,butitbecamethemanydetailsinourlives.ThiswasthefirsttimethatItastedCoca-Cola.WhenIfinisheddrinkingitIbelievedChinaandAmericaweretrulysoclose,becauseittastedjustlikeChinesemedicine.ThatwasatimewhenItookacrazylikingtorock’n'roll.ThatwasatimewhenMichaelJacksonstilllookedrelativelyhandsome.Moreimportantly,thatwasatimewhenChinaexperiencedverybigtransformations,asReformandOpeninghadalreadygoneonfortenyears.Thatyear,Chinabeganexperimentingwithmarketpricingformanygoods.Itmayfeellikesomethingtotallyincomprehensibletoyou,butitwasabigdealinChina,ahugestep,becausebeforethatthepricesweredecidedbythegovernment.Butinthatyear,becausepricecontrolswererelaxed,thewholecountrywentonacrazyshoppingspree.Everybodyallthought,howlongcouldthislast,sotheyhadtogetawholelife’sworthoffoodandgoodstobringhome.ThatyearsymbolizedthatChinamarchedcloserandclosertoamarketeconomy.Ofcoursebackthennobodyknewthatmarketeconomycouldalsohaveasubprimecrisis.Anyway,Iknowthat1988wasanextraimportantyearforYale,becauseaYalealumonceagainbecameanAmericanPresident.In1998,Iwas30.IhadalreadybecomeanewsanchoratCCTV.Moreimportantly,Ihadbecomethefatherofaone-year-oldchild.ThatyearaveryimportantthinghappenedbetweenChinaandAmerica,andtheprotagonistwasClinton.PerhapsyourememberhissexualscandalinAmerica,butinChinawhatwerememberishisvisittoChinathatyear.InJune,whenhevisitedChina,heandPresidentJiangZeminheldanopenpressconferenceintheGreatHallofthePeople.ThenhegaveanopenlectureatPekingUniversity.Theliveanchorforbotheventswasme.DuringClinton’slectureatPekingUniversity,becauseheusedhisowntranslatorthewholetime,IguessedthatmanyChineseviewersonlyknewthatClintonwasdefinitelysayingsomething,butwhathesaidwasn’tallthatclear.Soneartheendofmylivebroadcast,IremarkedthatitlookedlikeforAmericatolearnmoreaboutChina,sometimesitneededtostartwithlanguage,thoughforourtwocountries,face-to-facewasalwaysbetterthanback-to-back.ItwasalsoatthebeginningofthatyearthatIdrovethefirstcarinmylife.Formethiswasunimaginablebefore,thatChinesepeopleonedaywouldalsodrivetheirowncars.Apersonaldelightcanalsomakealastingimpression,becausesometimesthefirsttimeisthemostunforgettable.In2008,Iwas40.Thewords“Ihaveadream”thathaven’tbeendiscussedformanyyearsnowwereheardamongsomanyAmericans.ItseemedlikeObamareallydidnotwanttoacceptYale’s20-yearoccupationofAmerica.Usingwordslike“change”and“dream”,heevenconvincedYaleteachersandstudentstoparadeandcelebratehiselectiontothePresidency,accordingtowhatI’veheard.ButthiswasalsoayearinwhichtheChineseDreamshowedclearly.Afterencounteringmanysetbacksasanygranddreamintheworldisdestinedto,itcamethrough.Whetheritwasthelong-awaitedBeijingOlympics,orthefirstspacewalkbyaChineseaboardtheShenzhou7,thesewerealldreamswhichwehavewaitedforalongtimesincealongtimeago.ButthesuddenSichuanEarthquakemadeallthisnotasmagnificentaswehadexpected.Eighty-thousandlivesdeparted,andmadeeverydayof2008seemlikeayear.I’mguessingthatonYale’scampus,oneverywebsite,infrontoftelevisionandnewspapers,werealsomanypeoplefromChina,andpeopleinallpartsoftheworld,whoshedtearsfortheselostlives.JustlikefortyyearsagowhenMr.MartinLutherKingfellbutallowedthewords“Ihaveadream”tostandhigher,moreenduring,andseemevermorevaluable,moreChinesepeoplealsocametounderstandthatdreamsareimportant,butlivesareevenmoreso.DuringtheOlympics,Ipassedmyownfortiethbirthday.ThatdayIwasfullofemotionalthoughts,becausewhenthedayofmybirthdayapproached,Iwasbroadcastinganexcitingcompetition.Twenty-fourhourslater,whenmybirthdaywaspassing,Iwasstillbroadcasting.ButthatdayIfeltveryfortunate.BecauseitwassuchaspecialfortiethbirthdayattheBeijngOlympicsthatmademerealizetheChineseDreambehindmypersonalstory.ItwasinthiskindoffortyyearsthatIwentfromafar-awayborder-townkidwhohadnopossibilityofhavingadream,toanewsmanwhocouldbeatabigfestivalcelebratedwithallofhumanityandwhocouldcommunicateandsharethehappinesswiththem.ThiswasalifestorythattookplaceinChina.Andinthisyear,ChinaandAmericawerenotfarapart.Therewasabitofmeinyouandabitofyouinme,weneededeachother.ItwassaidthatPresidentBushspentthelongesttimeinanycountryabroadasPresident,andthatwasduringtheBeijingOlympics.Phelpstookeightmedalsthere,andhisfamilywastherebyhisside.AllChinesewishedthatextraordinaryfamilywell.Ofcourse,everydreamwillpass.Insuchayear,ChinaandAmericaalmostsimultaneouslyfoundtheirnew“Ihaveadream”moment,anditwassocoincidental,andsodeserving.Americaisfacingaveryverydifficultfinancialcrisis,anditisn’tonlyAmerica,butitaffectsthewholeworldseriously.YesterdayIgottoNewYork.AssoonasIdeplaned,IwenttoWallStreet.ThereIsawthestatueofPresidentWashington.HisgazewaspermanentlyfixedonthehugeAmericanflagonthestockexchange.Interestingly,thehallbehindthestatuewasholdinganexhibitionon“PresidentLincolninNewYork”,soPresidentLincoln’shugeportraitwasalsoonit,andhealsogazedattheflag.Ifelttheverysolemnweightofhistory.WhenIleftthere,Itoldmycolleaguethis.Isaid,manymanyyearsago,ifsomethinglikethisbefellAmerica,perhapsChinesepeoplewouldhavetakenpleasure,becausesee,Americaismiserableagain.Buttoday,ChinesepeoplewouldespeciallywishthatAmericagetbettersoon.BecausewehavehundredsofbillionsworthofmoneywithAmerica.WealsohaveahugequantityofproductswaitingtobeputonfreightersandsenttoAmerica.IfAmerica’seconomytakesastepforthebetter,itmeansbehindtheseproducts,anotherChinesegetsaraise,itmeansheregainshisemploymentandhappinessinthefamily.Inthepast30years,Idon’tknowifyou’venoticedtheChineseDreamthatisrelevanttomoreandmoreordinaryChinesepeople.Idon’tknowwhatothercountryinthisworld,inthepast30years,haschangedtheindividualfatesatthismagnitude.Akidfromaremotesmallcityontheperiphery,akidindespair,todayhasthechancetohaveanexchangewiththeseYalestudents.Maybewecanchangetheviewpoint,andlookatbillionveryordinaryChinese,theirdown-to-earthdreams,theirimpulsivedrivetochangetheirfates,theirstillkindheartedtemperament,andtheirdiligentcharacter.Today’sChinaismadeupofthesewordsIjustspoke.Inthepastmanyyears,ChineseseemedtobelookingatAmericathroughatelescope.SoeverythinggoodthatisinAmericawasmagnifiedbythistelescope.FrequentlypeoplementionedAmericawaslikethisandlikethat,thenlookatus,whencanwebelikethat.Inthepastmanyyears,AmericansalsoseemedtobelookingatChinathroughatelescope,butIamguessingtheyhelditbackwards.Becausewhattheysawwasadiminished,always-doing-wrong,full-of-problemsChina.TheyoverlookedveryordinaryChinesepeopleandthisimpulsivedriveandurgeoftheirstochangetheirfate,whichcausedsuchhugetransformationsinourcountry.ButIalsoalwayshadthisdream:whydoweneedtousetelescopestolookateachotherOfcourseIhopeverymanyAmericanshaveachancetogoseeChina,andnottolookatChinathroughthemedia.YouknowIdon’treallytrustallofmycolleagues.I’mjustkidding.ActuallyIrespectmyAmericancolleaguesverymuch.IonlyhopethatmoreandmoreAmericanfriendsgotoseearealChina.BecauseIcanatleastguaranteeonething.EvenifinAmericayouatewhatisdeemedtobethebestChinesefood,inwon’tfetchagoodpriceinChina.Justlikemanymanyyearsago,ineverycityofChinatherewasthispopular“CaliforniaBeefNoodle”shop.ManyChineseallthought,anythingfromAmericawasdefinitelyveryverytasty.Sotheyallwenttoeat.Althoughitwasnotverytasty,theydidn’tcomplainbecausetheyknewitwasfromAmerica.Thisfast-foodchainexistedinChinaformanyyears,untilmoreandmoreChinesepeoplecametoAmerica,andsearchedeverycornerofCaliforniaforaCaliforniaBeefNoodleshop,andcouldnotfindasingleone.OnlythendidmoreandmoreChineseknowthatCaliforniadoesn’thavesuchbeefnoodle,sothischainstoreinChinaisintheprocessofdisappearing.ThisisthekindofdiscrepancyIamtalkingabout.Aswecomeandgo,suchmisunderstandingswillbefewerandfewer.SolastlyIjustwanttosayonethingagain.Fortyyearsago,whenMr.MartinLutherKingfelldown,hiswords“Ihaveadream”spreadacrosstheworld.But,youmustknowthatthereisnotjustanEnglishversionof“Ihaveadream.”InthedistantEast,intheChinathathasheldonforthousandsofyears,thereisalsoadream.Itisn’tagrandioseslogan,itdoesn’tliewiththegovernment.ItbelongstoeveryordinaryChinese.Itis“Ihaveadream”writteninChinese.白巖松：我的故事以及背后的中國(guó)夢(mèng)過(guò)去的20年，中國(guó)一直在跟美國(guó)的三任總統(tǒng)打交道。但是，今天到了耶魯大學(xué)我才知道，其實(shí)它只跟一所學(xué)校打交道。透過(guò)這三位總統(tǒng)我也明白了，耶魯大學(xué)畢業(yè)生的水準(zhǔn)也并不是很平均。接下來(lái)，就進(jìn)入我們今天的主題，如果要起個(gè)題目的話，應(yīng)該叫《我的故事以及背后的中國(guó)夢(mèng)》。那一年，我們更應(yīng)該記住的是馬丁·路德·金先生遇刺。雖然，那一年他倒下了，但是“我有一個(gè)夢(mèng)想”的這句話卻真正地站了起來(lái)，不僅在美國(guó)站了起來(lái)，也在全世界站了起來(lái)。我要講五個(gè)年份，第一要講的年份是1968年。那一年我出生了。但是，那一年世界非常亂，在法國(guó)有巨大的街頭的騷亂……在美國(guó)也有，然后美國(guó)總統(tǒng)候選人羅伯特·肯尼迪遇刺了(他的哥哥約翰·肯尼迪總統(tǒng)在1963年遇刺)。但是，的確這一切的原因都與我無(wú)關(guān)(哄堂大笑)。那一年，我們更應(yīng)該記住的是馬丁·路德·金先生遇刺。雖然，那一年他倒下了，但是“我有一個(gè)夢(mèng)想”的這句話卻真正地站了起來(lái)，不僅在美國(guó)站了起來(lái)，也在全世界站了起來(lái)。但是，當(dāng)時(shí)很遺憾，不僅僅是我，幾乎很多的中國(guó)人并不知道這個(gè)夢(mèng)想。因?yàn)楫?dāng)時(shí)中國(guó)人，每一個(gè)人很難說(shuō)擁有自己的夢(mèng)想，將自己的夢(mèng)想變成了一個(gè)國(guó)家的夢(mèng)想，甚至是領(lǐng)袖的一個(gè)夢(mèng)想。中國(guó)與美國(guó)的距離非常遙遠(yuǎn)，不亞于月亮與地球之間的距離。但是我并不關(guān)心這一切，我只關(guān)心我是否可以吃飽。很顯然，我的出生非常不是時(shí)候，不僅對(duì)于當(dāng)時(shí)的中國(guó)來(lái)說(shuō)，對(duì)于世界來(lái)說(shuō)，似乎都有些問(wèn)題(眾笑)。1978年，10年之后，我10歲了。我依然生活在我出生的地方，那個(gè)只有20萬(wàn)人的非常非常小的城市。它離北京的距離有2000公里，它要想了解北京出的報(bào)紙的話，要在三天之后才能看見(jiàn)。所以，對(duì)于我們來(lái)說(shuō)，是不存在新聞這個(gè)說(shuō)法的(眾笑)。那一年，我的爺爺去世了。而在兩年前的時(shí)候，我的父親去世了。所以，只剩下我母親一個(gè)人撫養(yǎng)我們哥兒倆，她一個(gè)月的工資不到10美元。因此，即使10歲了，夢(mèng)想這個(gè)詞對(duì)我來(lái)說(shuō)，依然是一個(gè)非常陌生的詞匯，我從來(lái)不會(huì)去想它。我母親一直到現(xiàn)在也沒(méi)有建立新的婚姻，是她一個(gè)人把我們哥倆撫養(yǎng)大。我看不到這個(gè)家庭的希望，只是會(huì)感覺(jué)，那個(gè)時(shí)候的每一個(gè)冬天都很寒冷。就在我看不到希望的1978年的時(shí)候，不管是中國(guó)這個(gè)國(guó)家，還有中國(guó)與美國(guó)這兩個(gè)國(guó)家之間，都發(fā)生了非常巨大的變化。那是一個(gè)我們?cè)谧乃腥硕荚撚涀〉哪攴荩?978年的12月16日，中國(guó)與美國(guó)正式建交，那是一個(gè)大事件。而在中美建交兩天之后，12月18日，中國(guó)共產(chǎn)黨十一屆三中全會(huì)召開(kāi)了，那是中國(guó)改革開(kāi)放31年的開(kāi)始。歷史將兩個(gè)偉大的國(guó)家、一個(gè)非?？蓱z的家庭就如此戲劇性地交織在一起，不管是小的家庭，還是大的國(guó)家，其實(shí)當(dāng)時(shí)誰(shuí)都沒(méi)有把握知道未來(lái)是什么樣的。接下來(lái)的年份，該講1988年了，那一年我20歲。這個(gè)時(shí)候我已經(jīng)從邊疆的小城市來(lái)到了北京，成為一個(gè)大學(xué)生。雖然，今天在中國(guó)依然還有很多的人在抨擊中國(guó)的高考制度，認(rèn)為它有很多很多的缺陷。但是，必須承認(rèn)正是高考的存在，讓我們這樣一個(gè)又一個(gè)非常普通的孩子，擁有了改變命運(yùn)的機(jī)會(huì)。當(dāng)然，這個(gè)時(shí)候美國(guó)已經(jīng)不再是一個(gè)很遙遠(yuǎn)的國(guó)家，它變得很具體，它也不再是那個(gè)過(guò)去口號(hào)當(dāng)中的“美帝國(guó)主義”(眾笑并鼓掌)，而是變成了生活中很多的細(xì)節(jié)。這個(gè)時(shí)候，我已經(jīng)第一次嘗試過(guò)可口可樂(lè)，而且喝完可口可樂(lè)之后會(huì)覺(jué)得中美兩個(gè)國(guó)家真的是如此接近(眾笑)。因?yàn)椋鼛缀蹙透袊?guó)的中藥是一樣的(眾笑)。那個(gè)時(shí)候，我已經(jīng)開(kāi)始非?？駸岬厝ハ矚g上搖滾樂(lè)。那個(gè)時(shí)候，正是邁克爾·杰克遜長(zhǎng)得比較漂亮的時(shí)候(哄堂大笑)。更重要的是，這個(gè)時(shí)候的中國(guó)，已經(jīng)開(kāi)始發(fā)生了非常大的變化。因?yàn)?，改革已?jīng)進(jìn)行了10年。那一年，中國(guó)開(kāi)始嘗試放開(kāi)很多商品的價(jià)格。這在你們看來(lái)是非常不可思議的事情。但是，在中國(guó)當(dāng)時(shí)是一個(gè)很大的邁進(jìn)，因?yàn)檫^(guò)去的價(jià)格都是由政府來(lái)決定的。就在那一年，因?yàn)榉砰_(kāi)了價(jià)格，引起了全國(guó)瘋狂地?fù)屬?gòu)，大家都覺(jué)得這個(gè)時(shí)候會(huì)有多久呢于是，要把一輩子用的食品和用品，都買回到家里頭。這一年也就標(biāo)志著中國(guó)離市場(chǎng)經(jīng)濟(jì)越來(lái)越近了。當(dāng)然，那個(gè)時(shí)候沒(méi)有人知道市場(chǎng)經(jīng)濟(jì)也會(huì)有次貸危機(jī)(眾笑)。當(dāng)然，我知道那一年1988年對(duì)于耶魯大學(xué)來(lái)說(shuō)是格外的重要，因?yàn)槟銈円數(shù)男Ｓ延钟幸粋€(gè)成為了美國(guó)的總統(tǒng)。我說(shuō)：“看樣子美國(guó)需要對(duì)中國(guó)有更多的了解，有的時(shí)候要從語(yǔ)言開(kāi)始”?！皩?duì)于中美這兩個(gè)國(guó)家來(lái)說(shuō)，面對(duì)面永遠(yuǎn)要好過(guò)背對(duì)背”。接下來(lái)又是一個(gè)新的年份：1998年，那一年我30歲。我已經(jīng)成為中央電視臺(tái)的一個(gè)新聞節(jié)目主持人。更重要的是，我已經(jīng)成為一個(gè)1歲孩子的父親。我開(kāi)始明白我所做的許多事情不僅要考慮我自己，還要考慮孩子及他們的未來(lái)。那一年，在中美之間發(fā)生了一個(gè)非常重要的事件，主角就是克林頓。也許在美國(guó)你記住的是性丑聞。但是，在中國(guó)記住的是，他那一年訪問(wèn)了中國(guó)。在6月份他訪問(wèn)中國(guó)的時(shí)候，在人民大會(huì)堂和江澤民主席進(jìn)行了一個(gè)開(kāi)放的記者招待會(huì)，然后又在北京大學(xué)進(jìn)行了一個(gè)開(kāi)放的演講，這兩場(chǎng)活動(dòng)的直播主持人都是我。當(dāng)克林頓總統(tǒng)在上海即將離開(kāi)中國(guó)的時(shí)候，記者問(wèn)道：“這次訪問(wèn)中國(guó)，您印象最深的是什么”他說(shuō)：“我最想不到的是這兩場(chǎng)講座居然都直播了(笑)。不過(guò)，直播讓中國(guó)受到了表?yè)P(yáng)，而美國(guó)卻受到了批評(píng)(眾笑)?！碑?dāng)然只是一個(gè)很小的批評(píng)。在北大的演講當(dāng)中，由于整個(gè)克林頓總統(tǒng)的演講，用的全是美方所提供的翻譯。因此，他翻譯的那個(gè)水準(zhǔn)遠(yuǎn)遠(yuǎn)達(dá)不到今天我們翻譯的水準(zhǔn)(聽(tīng)眾大笑并鼓掌表示對(duì)現(xiàn)場(chǎng)翻譯的感謝)。我猜想有很多的中國(guó)觀眾，是知道克林頓一直在說(shuō)話，但是說(shuō)的是什么，不太清楚(眾笑)。所以，我在直播結(jié)束的時(shí)候，說(shuō)了這樣的一番話：“看樣子美國(guó)需要對(duì)中國(guó)有更多的了解，有的時(shí)候要從語(yǔ)言開(kāi)始”，美國(guó)包括美聯(lián)社在內(nèi)的很多媒體都報(bào)道了我的這句話。但是，我說(shuō)的另外一句話不知道他們有沒(méi)有報(bào)道我說(shuō)：“對(duì)于中美這兩個(gè)國(guó)家來(lái)說(shuō)，面對(duì)面永遠(yuǎn)要好過(guò)背對(duì)背?！碑?dāng)然也是在這一年年初，我開(kāi)上了人生的第一輛車。這是我在過(guò)去從來(lái)不會(huì)想到的，中國(guó)人有一天也可以開(kāi)自己的車。個(gè)人的喜悅，也
