Whenthemid-autumnfestivalisnear,shopwindowsarebeautifullydecorated.many"mooncakes"aredisplayedforpeopletobuy.peoplesendpresentssuchaswine,fruitsand"mooncakes"totheirfriendsandrelatives.intheeveningoftheday,theyhaveafeast.afterthefeast,theygoouttothegardentolookatthemoon.thechildrenrunandlaughonthestreets.

Itisbelievedthatthemoonisatherbrightestonthisnight.manypoemshavebeenwrittenaboutit,andpoetsarenevertiredofreadingandwritingsuchpoems.inchineseliterature,themoonofthemidautumnfestivalhasbeencomparedtoalooking-glass,ajaderabbit,andsoon.itseemsthatchineseliteraturetakesfarmoreinterestinthemoonthaninthesun.

Itisalsocommontohavebarbecuesoutsideunderthemoon,andtoputpomelorindsononeshead.Brightlylitlanternsareoftencarriedaroundbychildren.Togetherwiththecelebration,thereappearsomespecialcustomsindifferentpartsofthecountry,suchasburningincense,plantingMid-Autumntrees,lightinglanternsontowers,andfiredragondances.Shopssellingmooncakes,beforethefestival,oftendisplaypicturesofChange,floatingtothemoon.
