所謂名詞性從句,就是把完整句子當(dāng)作名詞來使用,使之在另一個句子中充當(dāng)某種成分。一般來說,名詞在句中主要充當(dāng)4種成分:主語、賓語、表語和同位語,從句在什么位置就是什么從句。常見的名詞性從句有:主語從句、賓語從句、表語從句和同位語從句。二、用法用作主語的從句叫做主語從句。1)由that引導(dǎo)的主語從句:
e.g.Thatweshallbelateiscertain.2)由連接代(副)詞引導(dǎo)的主語從句:
e.g.Howtheprisonerescapedisacompletemystery.3)由關(guān)系代詞what或whatever引導(dǎo)的主語從句:
e.g.Whatshedidisnotyetknown.4)有時可用形式主語it代替主語從句,即將it放在句首,將主語從句放在句末,以免句子頭重腳輕。如:主語從句①It+be+形容詞(necessary,right,likely,unlikely,wrong,important,certain,clear,obvious,strange,normal等)+that從句e.g.ItisunlikelythatIshouldacceptsuchanofferasthat.②It+be+名詞(短語)(apity,ashame,goodnews,afact,anhonour,awonder,nowonder)+that從句e.g.It'snowonderthathedidn'twanttogo.③It+be+過去分詞(said,told,heard,reported,decided,suggested,advised,ordered,remembered,thought,considered,well-known,announced等)+that從句e.g.ItisdecidedthatthemeetinghasbeenputoffuntilnextMonday.④It+動詞+賓語+that從句e.g.Itstruckmethatweoughttomakeanewplan.賓語從句用作賓語的從句叫做賓語從句。賓語從句的引導(dǎo)詞有從屬連詞that,whether,if,連接代詞who,whom,whose,what,which,whoever,whomever,whosever,whatever,whichever等,連接副詞when,where,why,how,whenever,wherever,however等。e.g.Ifeltthatshehadastrongwill.Iwonderwhatyoucalltheseflowers.Tellmehowyougothome.賓語從句既可以作動詞的賓語也可以作介詞的賓語。e.g.Sheissorryforwhatshesaid.【注意】有時可以用it作形式賓語,而把賓語從句放到句子后面去。e.g.Whydon’tyoubringittohisattentionthatyou’retooilltogoonwhether和if也常用來引導(dǎo)賓語從句。e.g.Idonotknowwhether/ifyoulikeflowers.一般情況下介詞后只能用wh-類連接詞引導(dǎo)賓語從句。e.g.Katewasinterestedinwhatshehadseenattheexhibition.表語從句用作表語的從句叫做表語從句。e.g.Mypointisthatyoumayhavetofacetheproblem.TheproblemiswhowecangettoreplaceFrank.
Thatiswherethebattletookplace.后跟表語從句的除be外,還有appear,become,look,remain,seem,sound等。e.g.Ifeelsorryforher,butthefactremainsthatsheliedtous.【注意】在advice,suggestion,order等表示建議、勸告、命令等含義的名詞后的表語從句中,謂語部分要用“should+動詞原形”結(jié)構(gòu),should可以省略。e.g.Jack’ssuggestionisthatwe(should)attendthemeeting.whether可以引導(dǎo)表語從句,if一般不可以。e.g.ThequestioniswhethertogotoLondonorParis.asif/asthough也可引導(dǎo)表語從句。e.g.Allthiswasover20yearsago,butit’sasif/asthoughitwasonlyyesterday.主句主語為reason時,表語從句的引導(dǎo)詞要用that,一般不用why或because。e.g.Thereasonforsuchaseriousaccidentisthatthedriverwasdrunk.目標(biāo)二:TolearnhowtousenounclausesindifferentcontextsActivity1:
