Indiaaddedrecord11,788MWofrenewableenergycapacityin2017-18and1,832.26MW(gridinteractiveandoff-grid)inApril-July2018.Overall,Indiaisexpectedtoaddupto8.5GWofrenewableenergycapacityin2018-

19.ItisexpectedthatIndiawilloverachieveitsParisAgreementgoals.

Renewablesourcesareexpectedtohelpmeet40percentofIndia’spowerneedsby2030.

Competition

Thecompetitioninthesectorhasrisenrecently,especiallyinthesolarpowersegment,wheretariffsreachedrecordlowofRs2.43(US$0.037)perunitinDecember2017andthesamelevelwasreachedinSeptember2018again.Thelargeintegratedplayersareinabetterpositionwithhigherreturnscomparedtothesmallercontractors.
