SincetheestablishmentofthefirstTorontoInternationalFilmFestivalin1976,nearly6,000filmshavebeenshowntotheworldhere.DevelopmentAbout300havebeenontheOscarnominationsandthepodium.DevelopmentTheTorontoInternationalFilmFestivalwasfoundedin1976.Intheearlydays,itfocusedonshowingfilmsfromotherfilmfestivals.Itwascalled"TheFestivalofFestival"..DevelopmentIn1994,itwasofficiallyrenamedtheTorontoInternationalFilmFestival.Afteryearsofdevelopmentandtransformation,ithasbecomeoneofthemostinfluentialfilmeventsintheworld.Development

Fromthebeginning,only30,000peopleparticipated,andithasdevelopedintoafilmwithmorethan400,000fansparticipatingeveryyear.Development

Inrecentyears,ithasbeenregardedasapreviewfortheAcademyAwards,and90%ofthefilmsshownattheTorontoFilmFestivalwerepremieresinNorthAmerica.DevelopmentTheTorontoInternationalFilmFestivalkicksoffonthe4thofeachyearaftertheNorthAmericanLaborDay(thefirstMondayinSeptember)andlastsforelevendays.FeaturesDifferentfromthethreemajorEuropeanfilmfestivals,theTorontoFilmFestivaladherestotheprinciplesof"Egalitarian,Democratic,andAccessible".FeaturesItdoesnotfocusonawards.Itisknownforthehugenumberoffilmscreeningsandmainlyservesthemarket.Features
