Explain the following language points 1.My alarm didnt go off so I woke up late.go off意為“發(fā)出聲音”,句中didnt go off是“(鬧鐘)沒(méi)有響”的意思。Youd better get up as soon as the alarm clock goes off.最好鬧鐘一叫你就起床。【拓展】(1)go off意為“(燈)熄滅;停止運(yùn)轉(zhuǎn);離開”。 The light went off as we entered the room.我們進(jìn)屋時(shí)燈滅了。(2)go off還可以表示“變質(zhì),變壞”。 Milk goes off quickly in hot weather.牛奶在熱天很容易變壞。2.I was waiting for the bus when it began to rain heavily.wait是不及物動(dòng)詞,須加上介詞for再跟賓語(yǔ)。Im waiting for a bus.我正在等公共汽車。 rain heavily下大雨,表示“下大雨/雪”用heavily修飾,修飾動(dòng)詞用副詞。Even if it rained heavily,we still marched on.即使下大雨,我們還是繼續(xù)往前走?!就卣埂縭ain作名詞意為“雨”,作動(dòng)詞意為“下雨”,表示雨的大小用hard/heavy/light,不可以用large/small來(lái)修飾;表示大風(fēng)用strong。There was a heavy rain last night.昨晚下了一場(chǎng)大雨。It is raining heavily/hard.天在下大雨。The wind is blowing strongly with lots of sand.風(fēng)猛烈地刮著,帶起了許多沙子。3.I ran to the bus stop but I still missed the bus. miss意為 “錯(cuò)過(guò)(機(jī)會(huì)),未趕上(車),未抓住(事物),遺漏”,后跟名詞/代詞/動(dòng)名詞,不接不定式。She missed seeing her son in the crowd.她在人群中未能看到她的兒子?!就卣埂縨iss還可意為“想念,思念”,后跟名詞/代詞。4.So,when the rainstorm suddenly came,what were you doing?suddenly adv.突然;忽然。Suddenly she came up with an idea.突然她想出了一個(gè)主意。Step .Reading and role-play 2d1.Read the conversation and answer the questions.(1)What was Linda doing at 7 last night?
