7、 company of sinopec according to the requirements in business bulletin no.36-2002 issued by the state economic and trade bureau. this specification is compromised of 9 chapters and 2 annexes for information. in comparison with specification sh 3501-2001specification for construction and acceptance o

8、f hypertoxic and combustible medium piping engineering in petrochemical industry, the main modifications are as follows: extend the scope to the hazardous mediums of moderate and light toxicity; adjust the provisions of pipe classification for consistency with sg 3059-2001 general rules for selectin

9、g equipment and material in petrochemical pipework engineering; coordinate related provisions with gb 50235-97 specification for construction and acceptance of industrial metallic pipework; revise related provisions of inspection and test in the previous specification for pipeline components; optimi

10、ze the provisions of inspection for welded joints. the provisions in bold face letters in this specification are mandatory and must be strictly observed. this specification is managed by zibo branch, the department of construction specifications management of sinopec, and no.5 construction company o

13、engjia this specification was issued in 1985 with first revision in 1997 and second revision in 2001, and this revision is the third revision. 4 sh 3501-2002 specification for construction and acceptance of hypertoxic and combustible medium piping engineering in petrochemical industry 1. scope this

14、specification defines the requirements for construction and inspection of pipe works in toxic (extremely hazardous, highly hazardous, moderately hazardous and lightly hazardous) and flammable mediums services in petrochemical industry. this specification applies to the construction and acceptance of

15、 pipe works in toxic and flammable mediums services with a design pressure in the range of 400 pa(a) 42 mpa(g) and a design temperature in the range of 196850. this specification is not applicable to the construction and acceptance of long range pipe work and municipal utility gas pipe work. 2. refe

16、renced documents in nature of specification the provisions in the following documents shall become the provisions of this specification by way of reference. for any referenced documents with a definite date, all the modification notices (excluding corrigenda) or revisions thereafter shall be regarde

17、d as inapplicable to this specification. while, it is encouraged for the parties that have agreed on this specification to study if the latest revisions of these documents can be used. for any referenced documents without a definite date, only the latest revisions are applicable to this specificatio

21、y inspection bureau. the bulletin no.4411993 regulation of qualification test for ndt personnel working on boilers and pressure vessels issued by the labor ministry. 6 3general 3.1 the construction of pipeline in which toxic or combustible medium is to be contained shall be performed according to de

22、sign documents. if the design is revised or the material specified in the design is replaced, it shall be approved by the design department. 3.2 the safety technique and labor protection in piping construction shall be implemented according to sh 3505. when the construction is performed in an area w

23、hich has been put into production, technical measure for safety construction shall be adopted in the light of the characteristics of the production area. 3.3 the contractor undertaking the construction hypertoxic and flammable medium piping must have obtained a license for installation of relevant p

24、ressure piping issued by the quality and technique supervision administration. 3.4 the welder engaging in the construction of hypertoxic and flammable medium piping shall be tested and have obtained qualification certificate in accordance with management regulations for welder test of boiler and pre

25、ssure vessel piping. the personnel for non-destructive inspection shall be tested and have obtained qualification certificate in accordance with regulations for qualification test of boiler and pressure vessel non-destructive inspection test personnel. 7 4. piping classification 4.1 a pipeline in wh

26、ich the hypertoxic or flammable is to be classified through shall be in conformity with stipulations in of sh3059-2001(table 1). for common hypertoxic and flammable media, see appendix a. table 1 piping classification class of pipingapplication scope 1. piping with medium of toxicity degree of extre

27、me hazard (except benzene piping); 2. piping with medium of acriylonitrile,phosgene, carbon disulfide, hydrogen fluoride of toxicity of high hazard. sha 3. piping of design pressure 10.0 mpa with hypertoxic or flammable medium. 1. benzene piping with toxicity degree of extreme hazard; 2. piping with

28、 medium of toxicity degree of high hazard (except piping with medium of acrylonitrile,phosgene, carbon disulfide, hydrogen fluoride);shb 3. piping with medium of categories i and ii flammable gases as well as category i a type liquified hydrocarbon and category i b and iia type flammable liquid; 1.

29、piping with medium of toxicity degree of mediant or light hasard. shc 2. piping with medium of category iib and iii flammable liquid. shdlow temperature piping with its design temperature below -29. 4.2 the piping delivering medium, which is both toxic and flammable, shall be treated as the higher c

30、lass piping in this specification. 4.3 the piping delivering mixed medium shall be classified according to the leading medium. 8 5inspection of piping components 5.1 general regulations 5.1.1 the piping components used in hypertoxic and flammable medium piping projects shall be in conformity with re

31、levant requirements of design documents and this specification. 5.1.2 the manufacturer of piping components (pipe, valve, fitting, flange, compensator and safety protection device, etc.) shall have obtained certificate for safety registration of manufacturing organizations of pressure piping compone

32、nts issued by administration department for quality technical supervision. 5.1.3 piping components shall be attached with quality certificate or qualification certificate. any component without quality certificate or qualification certificate must not be used. before using the products, their qualit

33、y certificate shall be checker and verified with the products. in case piping components delivered are not clearly identified or not net with the quality certificate or different with characteristic data or test results, the supplier shall make an experimental check or trace back to the products man

34、ufacture. the product shall not be used till discrepan. 5.1.4 visual inspection shall be made to piping components before using. their appearance quality shall meet requirements of relevant standard. unqualified products shall not be used: 5.1.5 the key alloy composition of the main body of alloy st

35、eel piping components shall be re-checked by half quantitatide analysis with quick spectrum analysis or other methods and marks shall be made. 5.1.6 in case in design documents there is requirements for of low temperature value material, data of impact toughness test at low temperature shall be incl

36、uded in the product quality certificate. otherwise compensate test shall be made in accordance with gb 4159. 5.1.7 in case any of samples spot tested or spot inspected according to regulations is not qualified, re-spot test shall be made by double the specified quantity. in case it is not qualified

37、again, that batch of piping components must not be used and marks shall be made to them and they shall be separated. 5.1.8 piping components shall be stored in sections. stainless steel piping components shall not contact non alloy steel or low alloy steel piping components. 5.2 pipe inspection 5.2.

38、1 the specification, quantity and mark of the piping for delivery hypertoxic and flammable medium shall be checked before using in accordance with design requirements. 9 5.2.2 the quality certificate of the pipe shall include followings: a.standard number of the product; b.product brand number of th

39、e steel; c.heat number, batch number, delivery status, weight and number of piece; d.name and specification of the variety and the class of quality; e.results of different test specified in product standard and purchase contract; f.seal mark of the manufacturer. 5.2.3 in case the steel number, and h

40、eat number of the pipe delivered are not in conformity with quality certificate. this batch of pipe must not be used until the discrepancy is solved. 5.2.4 for materials with requirements for anti inter-crystal corrosion, results of crystal corrosion test shall be noted in the product quality certif

41、icate. otherwise a compensate test shall be made in accordance with stipulations in 1 6 of gb 4334. 5.2.5 for piping in which medium of toxicity degree of extra-high / high hazard, there shall be ultrasonic test results in its quality certificate. otherwise every piece of pipe shall be tested accord

42、ing to gb 5777. 5.2.6 the quality of steel pipe surface shall be met as follows: a.such defects as breaks, folds, hair cracks, rolled folds, separations and scars are not permitted on the outside / inside surface of steel piping. b.the depth of erosion, concave, scratch and other mechanical damage s

43、hall not exceed the negative value of the thickness permitted by relevant standard. c.the finish and roughness of piping end threads and grooves shall reach the requirements of design documents or fabrication standard. d.there shall be identifiable marks in conformity to product standard. 5.2.7 for

44、sha class pipes with design pressure 10 mpa, their outer surfaces shall be non-destructive tested piece by piece according to following methods. the testing method and the appraisal of results shall be met to jb4730. the results of class i shall be qualified. 1.for magnet conductive steel pipes with

45、 od 12mm, magnetic powder test shall be made; 2.for non-magnet conductive steel pipes, chalk test shall be made. 5.2.8 for sha class pipes delivering extreme hazard medium (except benzol) with design pressure 10 mpa, the outer surfaces of 5% of each batch (same batch number, same heat number, same m

46、aterial and same specification) quantity, but not less than one piece, shall be spot tested by magnetic powder test or chalk test method and appraisal standard specified in article 5.2.7. the results of class ii shall be qualified. in case the tested sample is not qualified, article 5.1.7 shall appl

47、y to. 5.2.9 surface defects found by magnetic powder or chalk test are permitted to grind, but the actual thickness of pipe wall shall not be less than 90% of the nominal wall thickness and the minimum thickness of pipe wall specified in design document. 10 5.3 valve inspection 5.3.1 for valves of w

48、hich the low temperature seal test is requested by the design, the manufacturers qualification certificate of low temperature seal test shall be attached with them. 5.3.2 for general purpose valves used in sha class piping, their welding seams or cast steel parts of valve body or valve head shall ha

49、ve qualification certificate of non-destructive test specified in sh 3064. 5.3.3 before installation of valves, the valve body, sealing face and material of gaskets and packing with special requirements shall be spot tested in accordance with “valve specification sheet” in the design documents. for

50、each batch, at least one piece shall be spot tested. quick spectrum analysis shall be made piece by piece for valve body of alloy steel valves. in case it is not qualified, that batch of valves must not be used. 5.3.4 the appearance quality of valves shall meet requirements of the product standard w

51、ithout such defects which will reduce their strength as breaks, scales, sand adhesions or porousities permitted. 5.3.5 before installation of valves, hydaulic test shall be made piece by piece to valve body. the test pressure shall be 1.5 times of nominal pressure and with pressure retained for 5 mi

52、nutes. if there is no leakage, it is qualified. 5.3.6 for valves with upper sealing structure, test shall be made piece by piece to the upper sealing structure. the test pressure shall be1.1 times of nominal pressure. when testing, the upper sealing face shall be closed and the packing gland shall b

53、e loosened. the test pressure shall be retained for 4 minutes. if there is no leakage, it is qualified. 5.3.7 the hydaulic test and upper sealing test for valves shall be made with clean water as medium. when making hydaulic test for stainless steel valves, the content of chlorine in water shall not

54、 exceed 100mg/l. on qualification of the test, water trace shall be removed immediately. 5.3.8 seal test shall be made to the sealing face of valve seats in accordance with stipulation in sh 3064 standard. 5.3.9 for valves manufactured in accordance with sh 3064 and api standards and attached with c

55、orresponding marks of certification as well as supervised and accepted by their customer in the manufacturers workshop, 5% of each batch quantity, but not less than one piece, may be spot tested. in case they are un-qualified, article 5.1.7 shall apply. 5.3.10 safety valves shall be tested and adjus

56、ted at their opening pressure specified in design documents. when adjusting the pressure, the pressure shall be stable. the close-open test shall not be less than three times. when they are qualified after adjusting, they shall be lead sealed timely. 5.3.11 inspected or qualified valves after test s

57、hall be separately marked and a valve 11 inspection test record form shall be completed. 5.4 test of other piping components 5.4.1 the product quality certificates of piping components shall be examined and following items shall meet the requirements in design documents: a.chemical compositions and

58、mechanical performance; b.metallographic analysis results of alloy steel forging pieces; c.result of heat treatment and reports on non-destructive inspection of welding seams. 5.4.2 the outside surface of pipe shall be identified with its manufacturer code (trade mark), sizes and the brand no. and b

59、atch no. of material which shall be in conformity with its quality certificate. otherwise the pipe shall not be used. 5.4.3 the surface of pipe shall be smooth without any breaks or scales and other surfacial defects shall not exceed permissible depth specified in the product standard. the machining

60、 precision of grooves and threads shall meet the requirements of the product standard. the joint of a welted pipe shall be well formed and has a smooth transition to its base material without any cracks, bond-opens, unpenetrations and undercuts. 5.4.4 the fittings for sha class piping shall be teste
