To answer this, we need to look at some of the reasons why we need speed reading.It should always be in your mind that sp

2、eed reading is a skill. Actually, it is adopted in certain situations and its not always necessarily a skill you need to apply every time you read something.An example, if you are in bed reading the latest novel, it is unlikely that you are going to read fast. The reason: first, you have spent money

3、 on it; second, because the atmosphere in which to read is one of relaxation and taking things easy. If we now change the scene to one where we are reading the latest financial report from a company, even if we are doing this in bed, the environment has changed. The need and reason why we read in th

4、ese two scenes is not the same. In the former we relax in comfort. In the latter we are in a professional way. Clearly in the latter, where we want to be done with the reading and off to sleep, we can adapt our speed reading skills and in theformer we may choose not to. In other words, speed reading

5、 skill is a “horses for courses” skill. Apply them at times when you need to read something really fast, but not when you dont need to.Furthermore, as your retention(記憶) rates are usually better with speed reading, it is often a good idea that you speed reading at times when you have a special need

6、to understand and retain the information. It is far more likely that understanding and retaining the information in the financial report is going to be more beneficial to you, so use your speed reading skills at this time so that you can increase your chances of understanding and retaining.As you ca
