9、arefully determined.Central axis of the photon, electron, and light fields should be aligned with the axis of rotation of this bearing and the photoncollimator jaws should open symmetrically about this axis.MethodThe collimator rotation axis canbe found with a rigid rodattached to the collimator.Thi

10、s rod should terminate in asharp point and be longenough to reach from where itwill be attached to theapproximate position ofisocenter.The gantry should be positioned to point the collimator axis vertically downward and then the rod is attached to the collimator housing.Millimeter graph paper is attached to the patient treatment couch and the treatment couch is raised to contact the point of the rod.With the rod rigidly mounted, the collimator is rotated through its range of motion.
