4、artsandliteratureathisearlyage.WhileinHarvard,hebecameextremelyfondofartsmovementandbegantoresearchwithfreeverseandtoacquirethepaintinsgkill.Hewrotepoemstocelebratenature,naturalpoweraswellaslove.Itishisinnovativeversethatmakeshimamongthemostwell-knownandwidelyanthologizedpoetsof20thcentury.Hispoeti

5、cstyleisfamousforitsunusualandplayfultechniques:anextraordinaryusageofpunctuation,compressedwords,dislocatedsyntax,anduniquetypography,linedivision,andcapitalizationinordertoseizetheparticularsofasinglemovementormomentintime.Thepoemwewillanalyzeinthispaper-ihavefoundwhatyouarelike-isoneofthetypicalw

8、ntsbybreakingrulesofword-formationandextendstherulesaswell.Inhispoems,nonce-formationwordsarenumerous.Noncewordreferstoawordinventedtobeusedforasinglespecificoccasion;oranoldwordofwhichonlyoneoccurrencehasbeenfound.InthepoemStanza2,theword“newfragiieatypicalexampleofcoinageornonce-formation.Lexicald
