In the early days, the Maori didnt have their own language, so they use oral tradition and woodcarving to record their history, thus they developed their unique woodcarving. Maori houses and communal buildings often decorate with beautiful woodcarvings. Maori Houses: The red and white house shown here is owned by a Maori family.
