24、as angry with him for being latesince (既然)語氣較弱,強調已知的事實:Since you cant answer the question, I will ask someone else.既然你回答不出這個問題,我就問別人了。because 通常表示直接的原因。because 引導的從句表示直接而明確的原因和理由,表示按因果關系的推斷,語氣很強,用來回答why 的問題,一般位于主句之后。We couldnt go out because it was too cold.因為天氣太冷,我們不能外出。now that (既然)與since 相似,語氣較弱,

25、強調人們已知的事實。Now that you are busy, let me do it for you.既然你很忙,就讓我給你做吧。as 意為“因為、由于”,語氣比because 弱,所引導的從句表示的是不言而喻、顯而易見的原因和理由,其從句一般放在主句前。As it was late, we came back soon.由于時間很晚了,我們很快就回來了。區(qū)別:since 和now that 表示事物發(fā)展的自然結果,特別是當對方大概已經了解其原因的情況下使用,表示既成事實的原因,一般位于主句之前。注意:for是并列連詞,引出的原因較間接,似乎是事后所想到的補充解釋的理由,只陳述一般推斷的
