等作主語時,謂語動詞用復(fù)數(shù)形式。如:MyfamilywerewatchingTVwhenthenewscamethatwewonthegrandprize.Thecattleareeatinggrassinthefield.單、復(fù)數(shù)同形的名詞如species,deer,fish,sheep,Chinese,Japanese,means等作主語時,應(yīng)根據(jù)其意義來決定謂語動詞的單復(fù)數(shù)形式。如:Thisspeciesofroseisrare.精心整理Thesespeciesarefewinnumbersandmaybewipedoutfromthisplanetifnecessaryactionsarenottakenintime.復(fù)數(shù)形式的書名、劇名、報名、國名、學(xué)科及組織名稱等作主語時,謂語動詞往常用單數(shù)形式。如:TheUnitedNationsisoneofthemostimportantinternationalorganizationsinkeepingworldpeace.4.主語是glasses,shorts,gloves,scissors,trousers式。但如果它們前面有pair/type/kindof
等復(fù)數(shù)名詞時,謂語動詞要用復(fù)數(shù)形時,謂語動詞的單復(fù)數(shù)由pair/type/kind的數(shù)決定。如:Thetrousersarewornout,soapairofnewtrousersisgoingtobebought.表示重量、距離、金額、時間等的復(fù)數(shù)名詞作主語時,往常被看作整體,謂語動詞一般用單數(shù)形式??墒侨绻麖娬{(diào)數(shù)目,謂語動詞用復(fù)數(shù)形式。如:Fivehundredmilesisalongdistance.Onehundredcentsmakeadollar.“morethanone/manya+單數(shù)名詞”作主語時,只管意義上是復(fù)數(shù),但謂語動詞多用單數(shù)形式??墒?,在“more+復(fù)數(shù)名詞+thanone”作主語時,謂語動詞用復(fù)數(shù)形式。如:Manyashiphasbeendamagedinthestorm.Moremembersthanoneareagainsttheplan.二、代詞作主語代詞作主語時,謂語動詞的單復(fù)數(shù)要根據(jù)它們所代替的名詞的單復(fù)數(shù)來確定。如:Yourshoesareblack,andmine(=myshoes)arebrown.Mostofhissparetimewasspentinreading.Eachoftheguestswasgivenapresent.表示數(shù)量的不定代詞much,little作主語時,謂語動詞用單數(shù)形式;many,both,few作主語時,謂語動詞用復(fù)數(shù)形式。如:ThelittleIhaveisnotworthgiving.Onlythefewarelikelytoenjoythismusic.三、由連結(jié)詞連結(jié)的名詞或代詞作主語1.由

both...and...
連結(jié)兩個并列主語時,謂語動詞一般用復(fù)數(shù)形式。如果
and連結(jié)的兩部分指同一人、同一物、同一事或同一觀點時,
and后邊的名詞前沒有冠詞,謂語動詞常用單數(shù)形式。如:精心整理Thesingeranddancerisgoingtogiveusaperformancethisevening.(Thesingeranddancer指同一個人,雙重身份)Thepeasantandthepoetaregoingtomakespeechesfortheblindinthisspecialschool.(Thepeasantandthepoet指兩個不同的人,一個是農(nóng)民,另一個是詩人)2.當(dāng)主語后邊跟有with,alongwith,togetherwith,including,but,except,like,aswellas,besides,ratherthan等惹起的短語時,謂語動詞的單復(fù)數(shù)與主語保持一致。如:Dr.Green,togetherwithhiswifeandtwosons,hasjustleftandwillreturnatfouro’clock.3.由or,either...or,neither...nor,notonly...butalso,not...but等連結(jié)兩個名詞或代詞作主語時,謂語動詞往常與周邊的名詞或代詞保持一致。如:Neitheryounorheknowsanythingaboutit.四、數(shù)詞、量詞作主語“分數(shù)+of+名詞”組成的短語或“a
