DearFriends,

Sincetheyear2002,the StudiesCenteroftheUniversityofSalzburgincooperationwiththeEurasia-PacificUninet(EPU)hasbeenannuallyorganizingthe -Austrian-EUSummerSchoolforstudentsfromthe memberinstitutions.Sinceaskedbythestudentsandourlongpartneruniversitiesin tobringParisbackintotheprogram,the

StudiesCenterwasabletoarrangesomemodificationstotheprogramthathopefullyleadstoimprovementand

fulfillingtimeforourparticipantsduringtheirEuropeanvisit.

The16th -Austrian-EUSummerSchoolwilltake ceinSalzburg(Austria),Vienna(Austria),Prague(CzechRepublic),Heidelberg(Germany),Paris(France),Strasbourg(France),Verona(Italy)andVenice(Italy)fromJuly15thtoAugust12th2017.OptionaltripstoVersailles(France),NeuschwansteinCastle(Germany)andHallstatt(Austria)arepossibleifwanted.

Theuniversitiesaregoingtobematchedindifferentgroups.Thedecision,whoisgoingtobeinwhichgroup,willbe

madewhenallnominationsfromallparticipatinguniversitiesarein(afterthe1stofApril).

Requirementsandparticipants

The -Austrian-EUSummerSchoolisdirectedtowardsstudentswhowanttodeepentheirknowledgeaboutEuropeingeneralandAustriainparticular.

SinceallthelecturesareheldinEnglish,havingagoodcommandofwrittenandspokenEnglishisabasicprerequisiteforparticipation.Responsiblecontact sfromourmemberinstitutionshavetomakesurethattheEnglishlanguageabilitiesoftheselectedstudentsaremeetingthisminimumrequirement.

特別注意：為了確保學(xué)生能有足夠的能力，順利完成暑期學(xué)校的學(xué)習(xí)任務(wù)及考試，請(qǐng)負(fù)責(zé)招生的老師，一定要注意確保

所招收學(xué)生的英語(yǔ)水平達(dá)到一定標(biāo)準(zhǔn)。

Programanditinerary

Theprogramofthe -Austrian-EUSummerSchoolincludeslecturesinSalzburg,Vienna,Heidelberg,Paris,Venice

andStrasbourg.

Onlyincaseofasevereproblemwecanmakeanexception,otherwisetheattendanceintheofficialprogram

(includeslectures,daytripsandalsothemainsightseeingprogram)ismandatory.

InSalzburgtherewillbeclassesonAustrianhistory,Austrianpolitics,Germanli ture,Austrianmusic,PsychologyandthephilosophicalandreligiousbackgroundofEuropeanculture.Asforsightseeing,wearegoingtotakeatriptotheLakeDistrict,tothe brunnCastle,asightseeingtourthroughSalzburg,etc.

Flights

Sinceparticipantsin2015suggesteditwouldbeeasierandmoreconvenientforthestudentstobooktheirownflights,wehavemadethedecisiontohavethepilotin2016andthestudentshadthepossibilitytobooktheirownflights.

Sincethestudentswerereallyhappytochoosetheirownflights,wewillcontinuethisyearinthe

sameway.

Aseveryyear,wewillofcoursearrangeashuttlebusthatpicksupthestudentsfromtheAirport(inMunich,ParisandVienna–dependingonthegrouptheyarein).Ofcourse,theEuropeangroupleaderswillbeattheAirportwiththebussestopickupthestudentsfromtheirEuropeandestinations.

Costs

Thecostsforthesummerschoolamountto2,900EUR(withoutthebankfeesandthefeesforthe

optionaltrips).

Thisincludesmodation(doublerooms/includingbreakfast),lecturefees,insurance,transportationaswellasthecostsforthesightseeingtrips(excepttheoptionaltrips).

Singlerooms

Wewillinformyouaboutpaymentproceduresafterwereceiveyournomination.

Ahalfdaytripincludesthepickupfromtheho withaprivatebusandthetransfertoHallstatt.

Adaytripincludesthepickupfromtheho ,thetransfertotheCastleandalsotheentrancefees.70.00€per

Thedeadlineforthepaymentoftheprogramfeeswillbethe1stofMay2017.Ifwedon′treceivetheprogramfeesfromastudentuntilthe1stofMay2017,wereservetherighttohandthespottoanotherstudentonthewaitinglist.

Wealsomustinformyouaboutourcancelationfees

Ifastudentdecidestodropoutafterthe1stofMaybutbeforethe30thofMay,wewithhold25%ofthecosts.

Foranydropoutsbetweenthe1standthe30thofJune,wewillclaim50%oftheprogramcosts.

Afterthe30thofJune,weareclaiminga100%cancelationfee.
