maybe此處作副詞,意為“也許,可能”,相當于perhaps,常位于句首。
e.g.:Maybeshe'llcomethisafternoon.Maybeyouputtheletterinyourpockets.【辨析】maybe與maybe(1)maybe意為“也許是,可能是”,may是情態(tài)動詞,be是動詞原形,兩者構(gòu)成完整的謂語形式,與主語形成系表結(jié)構(gòu)。

sleepyadj.困倦的,瞌睡的,常與be/feel連用?!就卣埂縮leepv.&n.入睡,睡覺;asleepadj.入睡的,睡著的,常與fall連用。

e.g.:HemayhavewatchedTVlastnight.二、肯定推測。1.must用于肯定句,表示較有把握的推測,意為“準是,一定”,后接動詞原形,表示對現(xiàn)在的推測。

2.may用在肯定句中,表示對現(xiàn)在把握不大的推測,意為“也許,可能”。
e.g.:Itmaybeanewinvention.3.could,might也表示推測,常用在過去時中;但在某種巧合下,為了使語氣更緩和、更委婉,常用could,might代替can,may。
e.g.:Theysawsomethingintheskylastnight.Itcould/mightbeaUFO.4.can用于肯定句中,表示理論上的可能性。
e.g.:Smokingcancausecancer.三、否定推測。1.表否定推測時,can't/couldn't語氣最強,指“不可能”,帶有驚異、懷疑的感情色彩。
e.g.:Thestorysoundsinteresting,butitcan'tbetrue.2.語氣不很肯定時,常用maynot或mightnot表否定推測,意為“可能不,也許不”。
e.g.:Hemay/mightnotbeathome.四、疑問句中的推測。疑問句中的推測,常用can或could,意為“可能”。
