許淵沖詩(shī)歌英譯中的主體性研究的中期報(bào)告Note:ThefollowingisatranslationofaresearchreportwritteninChinese.Somenuancesanddetailsmaybelostintranslation.ReportontheMid-termStudyoftheSubjectivityinXuYuanchong'sPoetryTranslationI.IntroductionXuYuanchongisarenownedChinesepoet,translatorandscholarwhohasmadesignificantcontributionstothefieldofChineseliteratureandtranslation.HispoetryandtranslationworkshavebeenwidelyrecognizedbothinChinaandabroad.However,therearedifferentopinionsabouthispoetrytranslation,especiallyregardingtheissueofsubjectivity.ThisstudyaimstoexplorethesubjectivityinXuYuanchong'spoetrytranslation,analyzethefactorsthataffecthistranslationchoices,andevaluatetheeffectivenessofhistranslationstrategies.Inthismid-termreport,Iwillsummarizetheprogressandfindingsofmystudysofar.II.LiteratureReviewPreviousstudieshavefocusedonXuYuanchong'stranslationtheoryandmethods,histranslationofspecificworks,andhispoetrywriting.However,fewstudieshavesystematicallyanalyzedthesubjectivityinhispoetrytranslation.SomescholarscriticizeXu'stranslationforbeingtoopersonalandsubjective,whileothersdefendhisapproachasalegitimatecreativeact.III.ResearchQuestions1.WhatarethefactorsthatinfluenceXuYuanchong'stranslationchoices?2.TowhatextentdoesXuYuanchong'ssubjectivityaffecthistranslation?3.HoweffectiveareXuYuanchong'stranslationstrategiesinconveyingthemeaningandstyleoftheoriginalpoetry?IV.MethodologyThisstudyadoptsaqualitativeresearchapproachandusescontentanalysisastheprimarymethod.ThedatasourcesincludeXuYuanchong'spoetrytranslationworksandrelatedstudiesonhistranslationtheoryandmethods.V.PreliminaryFindings1.InfluenceFactorsBasedontheanalysisofXuYuanchong'stranslationworksandhistranslationtheory,thefollowingfactorsaffecthistranslationchoices:(1)Readerorientation:XuYuanchongemphasizesthecommunicationofthepositivevaluesandaestheticsofChineseculturetoforeignreaders.(2)Originaltext:XuYuanchongishighlyfaithfultotheoriginaltextandfavorstheuseofliteraltranslation.(3)Poeticformandstructure:XuYuanchongpaysattentiontoreproducingtheformandstructureoftheoriginalpoetry,includingrhythm,rhyme,andpunctuation.(4)Culturalcontext:XuYuanchongconsiderstheculturalcontextofboththesourceandtargetlanguagesandattemptstofindequivalentexpressions.2.SubjectivityXuYuanchong'ssubjectivityisreflectedinhistranslationchoicesinthefollowingways:(1)Poeticlanguageandimagery:XuYuanchongoftenaddshisownpoeticlanguageandimagerytothetranslation,whichmaydeviatefromtheoriginaltext.(2)Aestheticjudgment:XuYuanchong'saestheticjudgmentaffectshistranslation,includinghischoiceofwordsandphrases.(3)Culturalperspective:XuYuanchong'spersonalculturalperspectivemayaffecthisinterpretationandtranslationoftheoriginalpoem.3.EffectivenessXuYuanchong'stranslationstrategiesaregenerallyeffectiveinconveyingthemeaningandstyleoftheoriginalpoetry.However,hissubjectivitymaysometimesleadtothelossoftheoriginalmeaningorstyle,whichmayaffecttheaccuracyandreadabilityofthetranslation.VI.ConclusionThismid-termreportprovidesapreliminaryanalysisofthesubjectivityinXuYuanchong'spoetrytranslationanditsimpactontheeffectivenessofhistranslationstrategies.Further
