Thelesson"FamilyMembers"isdesignedfortheyoungchildreninthekindergarten.Itaimstointroducethefamilymembers'vocabulary,suchasfather,mother,brother,sister,grandma,andgrandpa.Moreover,ithelpstocultivatethechildren'sabilitytounderstandandexpressthebasicsentencestructurerelatedtofamilymembers.Finally,itprovidesopportunitiesfortheyoungchildrentodolisteningandspeakingpracticesbygames,songs,androle-playing.

Thelessonwilltakearound45minutes.

III.Objectives

Attheendofthelesson,theyoungchildrenwillbeableto:

Recognizeandsaythefamilymembers'vocabularyinEnglishcorrectly.

Understandandproducethebasicsentencestructurerelatedtofamilymembers,suchas"Thisismymother."

Participateinsomeactivity-basedpractices,suchasgames,songs,androle-playing,withtheguidanceoftheteacher.

V.Procedures

Warm-up(5minutes)

Greettheyoungchildrenwithasmileandsay"hello"tothem.Askthemtositdownandjointheactivity.Then,startthewarm-upbysingingthe"HelloSong"orotherfamiliarsongs.Forinstance,"IfYou'reHappyandYouKnowIt,ClapYourHands."

Presentation(10minutes)

Showthepicturesofthefamilymembersonebyone,andsaytheirnamesinEnglishclearly.Forexample,"Thisisafather.""Thisisamother."Asktheyoungchildrentorepeatthevocabularyaftertheteacher.Then,usethecharttomodelthebasicsentencestructurerelatedtofamilymembers,like"Thisismymother."Repeatthesentenceswiththeyoungchildrenandencouragethemtotrysayingitbythemselves.

Practice(15minutes)
