威廉·莎士比亞（WilliamShakespeare，1564－1616）是英國杰出的戲劇家和詩人，他在歐洲文學史上占有特殊的地位，1564年出生在英國中部艾汶河上斯特拉福鎮(zhèn)一個富商家庭。少年時代，莎士比亞曾在當?shù)氐摹拔姆▽W?！睂W習過古典文?！彼m受過良好的基本教育，但是未上過大學。在他13歲的時候，由于家道中落，他中途輟學，走上了獨立謀生的道路。1582年，18歲的莎士比亞娶了比自己大8歲的安妮·赫索威。婚后他們生有三個孩子。

三年后，莎士比亞只身離開家鄉(xiāng)來到倫敦，在劇場門口給人看馬匹，在劇場擔任臨時演員。大約1592年，莎士比亞開始戲劇創(chuàng)作，并不斷獲得成功。1599年公司建立了“環(huán)球劇院”，他還曾為倫敦環(huán)球劇場的股東之一。

大約在1612年，莎士比亞大致完成了38個劇本、兩首長詩和154首十四行詩的寫作，遂離開倫敦，回到故鄉(xiāng)斯特拉福。1616年4月23日，莎士比亞病逝，享年52歲。1995年，聯(lián)合國教科文組織將4月23日定為“世界讀書日”。

雖然莎士比亞只用英文寫作，但他卻是世界著名作家。他的大部分作品都已被譯成多種文字，其劇作也在許多國家上演。代表作品有：《羅密歐與朱麗葉》；四大悲劇《哈姆雷特》、《奧賽羅》、《李爾王》、《麥克白》等。他的作品反映了當時的社會現(xiàn)實，表達了人文主義的社會政治理想。Warmingup莎士比亞四大悲劇包括《哈姆雷特》、《奧賽羅》、《李爾王》、《麥克白》，是其悲劇作品中最著名的四部。故事均取自歐洲的歷史傳說。

《哈姆雷特》劇寫的是丹麥王子哈姆雷特回國奔喪，父王鬼魂訴冤，囑其報仇。王子裝瘋，安排“戲中戲”，證實了新王殺兄的罪行。錯殺大臣后，王子被打發(fā)出國，他洞察新王陰謀，中途折回。新王備下毒酒毒劍，挑唆大臣之子與王子決斗，欲置之于死地，最后三人同歸于盡，母后也誤飲毒酒而死。BackgroundknowledgeWarmingup
