3.Ididn’tliketheideaofbeingthrownaboutinaboatonaroughsea.

Ving形式既可作動(dòng)詞的賓語(yǔ),也可作介詞的賓語(yǔ)?!颰hebirdescaped______________(catch).★Hewasafraidof_______________(abandon)byus.注意在avoid,admit,appreciate,plete,consider,delay,enjoy,escape,excuse,finish,forgive,imagine,mind,miss,practise,risk,suggest,giveup,putoff,feellike,insiston等后只接Ving形式作賓語(yǔ)。用作定語(yǔ)Theproblembeingdiscussednowisveryimportant.2.Thehousebeingbuiltwillbeourlibraryuponitspletion.用作狀語(yǔ)1.Beingaskedtoanswerthequestion,shecouldn’trefuse.2.Havingbeengivensuchagoodchance,howwouldyounotvalueitatall?pareI—Ving一般時(shí)和一般時(shí)的被動(dòng)形式;(1)Hehurriedhome,lookingbehindfromtimetotime.(2)Thebuildingbeingrepairedisourdormitory.pareII—Ving的完成時(shí)和完成時(shí)的被動(dòng)形式(1)Havingheardthis,ourteacherexpressedhersatisfaction.(2)Havingbeenaskedtostay,Icouldn’tleave.在絕大數(shù)情況下,句子的邏輯主語(yǔ)是句中的主語(yǔ),但有時(shí)可有一個(gè)名詞或代詞表示邏輯上的主語(yǔ),這種帶邏輯主語(yǔ)的結(jié)構(gòu)稱為獨(dú)立結(jié)構(gòu)。Themeetingbeingover,wealllefttheroomanddrovehome.會(huì)議結(jié)束后,我們都離開(kāi)房間開(kāi)車(chē)走了。Itbeingaholiday,alltheshopswereshut.由于今天是假日,所有商店都關(guān)門(mén)了。Theheavyfrostingon,deadleaveslaythickontheground.濃霜降臨,落葉滿地。注意一些動(dòng)詞如need,want,require等作“需要”講時(shí),其后的動(dòng)詞ing形式的主動(dòng)語(yǔ)態(tài)表示被動(dòng)意義,也可以用不定式的被動(dòng)形式來(lái)替換。如:Theblackboardneedscleaning.=Theblackboardneedstobecleaned.

Thebrokenwindowwantsrepairing.=Thebrokenwindowwantstoberepaired.

另外注意beworth及beworthy的用法:

Theproblemisworthyofbeingdiscussed.

Theproblemisworthytobediscussed.
