AMS2242GresultsfromaFiveYearReviewandupdateofthisspecificationandaddslengthandwidthtolerancesforplateover1inchinthickness.

1.SCOPE

Thisspecificationcoversestablishedmanufacturingtolerancesapplicabletosheet,strip,andplateofcorrosionandheatresistantsteels,ironalloys,titanium,andtitaniumalloysorderedtoinchdimensions.Thesetolerancesapplytoallconditions,unlessotherwisenoted.Theterm"excl"isusedtoapplyonlytothehigherfigureofthespecifiedrange.

2.THICKNESS

Thicknessforsheetandstripismeasuredatanyplaceonwidthslessthan1inch,atanyplace0.375inchandoverfromanedgeonwidths1inchandover,andforplateatleast0.375inchbutnotover3inchesfromanedge.
