Itprovidesforthegradualreleaseofresponsibility,towardapointwherestudentscanindependentlyandconfidentlyconstructatextforamajorassessmenttask.Aprogrammingtoolforplanningandsequencingteachingandlearning,withanexplicitfocusonlanguageandliteracy. Itconsiders:preteachingpreparationtheskillsandunderstandingsstudentsbringhowtotakestudentsthroughaseriesofactivitiesthatwillsupportlanguageandliteracylearningwhilesubjectcontentistaught.3TheTLCisbasedonunderstandingthecentralroleoflanguageinlearning
