InthenorthofIndia,thepopulationisboomingduetohighbirthrates,butinthesouth,

wheremosteconomicdevelopmenlistakingplace,birthraleisfallingrapidly.Inafunhertwist,

birthrateishighestinpoorlyeducatedruralareasandlowestinhighlyeducatedurbanareas.In

total,25%ofIndia'sworkingagepopulationhasnoeducation.In2030.asixthofthecountry's

potentialworkforcecouldbetotallyuneducated.

Onesolutionisobviouslyloimportforeignworkersviaimmigration.AsfortheUSA,itis

almostuniqueamongdevelopednationsinhavingapopulationthatisexpected(ogrowby20%

from2010—2030.Moreover,theUSAhasatrackrecordofsuccessfullyaccepting

immigrants.Asaresultit'slikelytosecariseinthesizeofitsworkingagcpopulationandto

witnessstrongeconomicgrowthoverthelongerterm.
