MODULE 2 TEACHING PLAN Content:Module 2 Great books 一、 題材內(nèi)容本模塊以談?wù)搨ト撕退麄兊闹鳛樵掝},語法重點(diǎn)是一般現(xiàn)在時(shí)的被動(dòng)語態(tài)的用法, 并能讀懂有關(guān)評(píng)價(jià)名著的對(duì)話和文章。該話題為學(xué)生所熟知,非常有利于開展聽、說、讀、寫方面的語言實(shí)踐活動(dòng)。通過操練,使學(xué)生在掌握語言結(jié)構(gòu)的同時(shí),既學(xué)習(xí)語言知識(shí),感悟語言功能,又能拓展知識(shí)面。在閱讀過程中,學(xué)會(huì)應(yīng)用尋找重復(fù)詞的閱讀技巧。教學(xué)中教師應(yīng)隨時(shí)隨地以課本為出發(fā)點(diǎn),靈活利用各種素材組織教學(xué)過程和內(nèi)容。充分調(diào)動(dòng)學(xué)生的積極性。教學(xué)目標(biāo)1) 語言知識(shí):語音正確朗讀帶有一般現(xiàn)在時(shí)被動(dòng)語態(tài)的句子。詞匯work, influence, thinker, thought, wise, copy, monthly, literature, adventure ,behaviour , cave , freedom , funeral , century ,outsider , pretty , social , theme ,treasure , clever , dead ,hide-hid-hidden , pleased , alive , punish , state , southern version , historical , actually , rewrite-rewrote-rewritten , intend , rather ,publisher , reviewer , unpleasant詞組Whats up? as far as , not any more , millions of , at the end of , run away , grow up , talk about語法一般現(xiàn)在時(shí)的被動(dòng)語態(tài)的概念和用法功能掌握表示同意和不同意的表達(dá)方式,如 I gree/ I dont agree話題以“談?wù)搨ト撕退麄兊闹鳛椤睘樵掝}。2) 語言技能:聽能聽懂談?wù)撊宋锘蚪榻B文學(xué)作品的對(duì)話.說能談?wù)撟约合矚g的文學(xué)作品讀能讀懂介紹自己喜歡的文學(xué)作品的文章。在閱讀中學(xué)會(huì)應(yīng)用尋找重復(fù)詞和細(xì)節(jié)的閱讀策略,進(jìn)行簡(jiǎn)單的閱讀技能訓(xùn)練。寫能寫短文介紹和評(píng)價(jià)自己所喜歡的文學(xué)作品的對(duì)話。演示與表達(dá) 能發(fā)表對(duì)某部作品的看法并且能與同學(xué)展開討論。3)學(xué)習(xí)策略學(xué)習(xí)一定程度形成自主學(xué)習(xí),有效交際、信息處理、英語思維能力。認(rèn)知聯(lián)系,歸納,推測(cè)等技能。觀察并歸納一般現(xiàn)在時(shí)的被動(dòng)語態(tài)的用法,提高自學(xué)能力。調(diào)控從同伴處得到反饋,對(duì)自己在敘述及作文中的錯(cuò)誤進(jìn)行修改交際學(xué)習(xí)運(yùn)用恰當(dāng)詞語簡(jiǎn)單表述偉人和他們的著作。資源通過其他資源獲取更多有關(guān)“偉人和他們的著作”的簡(jiǎn)單英語。自學(xué)策略能夠運(yùn)用觀察、發(fā)現(xiàn)、歸納和實(shí)踐等方法學(xué)習(xí)語言知識(shí),感悟語言功能。能注意發(fā)現(xiàn)語言現(xiàn)象背后的規(guī)律,并能運(yùn)用規(guī)律舉一反三。合作學(xué)習(xí)策略互相學(xué)習(xí),取長補(bǔ)短,注意學(xué)習(xí)策略共享,將自己所搜集的信息與其他同學(xué)共享 。4)文化意識(shí):中外對(duì)比了解對(duì)中國傳統(tǒng)文化的了解加強(qiáng)對(duì)西方著名作家和戲劇家及其文學(xué)作品的了解,從而拓展視野,激發(fā)學(xué)習(xí)英語的興趣。5)情感態(tài)度:通過學(xué)習(xí)描述過去生活,提高對(duì)英語的學(xué)習(xí)興趣。參加各種英語活動(dòng),克服困難,在新環(huán)境中進(jìn)一步樹立準(zhǔn)確的語言學(xué)習(xí)觀。6)任務(wù):能夠運(yùn)用一般現(xiàn)在時(shí)的被動(dòng)語態(tài)介紹和評(píng)價(jià)自己所喜歡的文學(xué)作品。教學(xué)重點(diǎn)和難點(diǎn) 重點(diǎn):1掌握談?wù)搨ト撕退麄兊闹鞯幕驹~匯,讀懂含有一般現(xiàn)在時(shí)的被動(dòng)語態(tài)的句子,掌握一般現(xiàn)在時(shí)的被動(dòng)語態(tài)形式和用法。難點(diǎn): 掌握一般現(xiàn)在時(shí)的被動(dòng)語態(tài)的結(jié)構(gòu)和用法。教學(xué)方法基于課程改革的理念及“第二語言習(xí)得論”,培養(yǎng)實(shí)現(xiàn)人的可持續(xù)發(fā)展和人的主體精神的自我完善和發(fā)展所必需的能力和素質(zhì),運(yùn)用任務(wù)型教學(xué)途徑,圍繞核心任務(wù),設(shè)定小任務(wù),開展和諧愉悅的課堂活動(dòng),強(qiáng)調(diào)興趣第一的原則,初步設(shè)計(jì)“PTP”自主學(xué)習(xí)立體模式:pre-tasktask-cyclepost-task。二、 教材處理核心任務(wù):能夠運(yùn)用所學(xué)句型結(jié)構(gòu)介紹和評(píng)價(jià)自己所喜歡的文學(xué)作品。三個(gè)環(huán)節(jié)如下:pre-task:學(xué)生聯(lián)系生活實(shí)際,激活背景知識(shí),。task cycle:通過整個(gè)模塊的聽說讀寫的訓(xùn)練,強(qiáng)化對(duì)“談?wù)搨ト撕退麄兊闹鳌钡谋磉_(dá)能力,為完成任務(wù)做好鋪墊post-task:達(dá)成任務(wù),展示成果,反饋學(xué)習(xí)情況三、 教材安排根據(jù)學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)英語的特點(diǎn)和規(guī)律,我們把本模塊劃分為4課時(shí):Period 1: Listening and Vocabulary &Pronunciation and SpeakingPeriod 2: Reading and Vocabulary Period 3: Writing& Around the world &Module TaskPeriod 4: Language in use注:教學(xué)時(shí)應(yīng)根據(jù)學(xué)生的學(xué)習(xí)水平、生活實(shí)際水平、接受程度及課堂出現(xiàn)的臨時(shí)狀況進(jìn)行運(yùn)用、調(diào)整及篩選。教學(xué)設(shè)計(jì)Title: Module 2 Great books Period 1: Listening and Vocabulary &Pronunciation and SpeakingTeaching Content: Listening and Vocabulary and Pronunciation and Speaking Teaching Aims and Demands:1. Language Knowledge Key vocabulary and phrases: work, influence, thinker, thought, wise, copy, monthly, literature, Whats up? as far as , not any more , millions of Key structure: be + p.p. (重點(diǎn)) 2, Listening skill: To understand conversations about appraisement of great books. (難點(diǎn)) 3.Speaking skill: To talk about great books 4. Affection and attitudes: Books are our friends.Learning strategies:Bottom up approach and listening to the tape and do some exercises.Teaching Aids: Multi-Media (Tape recorder, video, OHP, handout)Teaching Procedures:Part I: Revision Task: Recall what we have learned in the last Module. Directions: Step one: Label the pictures with the phrases.(1). Read through the phrases in the box and have the Ss. Repeat them after you. (2).Ask them to label them in the pictures on the screen. (3).Make some sentences with the phrases. Ask students to speak out as many as they can.Step two: Talk about wonders of the world.Ask students to speak out as many as they can. Part II: Lead in: Task 1: Introduce to them the new words.Directions:Step one: Introduce the new words of this unit. And list them on the board.Step two: Read after the teacher.Step three: Practise reading the words.Step four: Ask the students to look at the pictures about Confucius, Shakespeare and Mark Twain . Elicit what they know about them. If there are any new words, add them to the list on the board.Step five: Make some sentences using the new words from the whole class. Task 2: Introduce to them the Passive tense.Directions:Step one. Elicit a few sentences from the Ss. (e.g. Many people read this book.) and write them on the blackboard. Step two: Then write the following: This book is read by many people. Step three: Practise the tense with some sentences Step four: Have the Ss. make some other sentences. (e.g. visit America/ clean the floor)Step five: The structure of the Passive Tense: be + p.p.Part III: ListeningTask: Listen and then match the words in the box with the box with the people in the picture in activity 1 on page 10.Directions:Step one: (Close the books) Listen to the tape carefully.Step two: Play the recording and have them listen to the recording and focus on the words first time through.Step three: Play the recording again for them to check. Then Call back the answer from the whole class.2.Task: To understand conversations .Directions:Step one: Listen and answer these questions: What is Mark Twin famous as? What is Betty doing in the library?Make sure the Ss. understand the questions: Step two: Play the recording and have them listen.Step three: Play the recording again and have them write the answers individually.Step four: Play the recording and have them check their answers with a partnerStep five: Call back the answers from the whole class.3.Task: Activity 4 on page 11. Directions:Step one: Play the recording again and have them answer this question individually in Activity 4. Have them check their answers with a partnerStep two: Play the recording again. Call back the answer in a whole- class setting. Step three: Listen and check.4 .Task: Listen and read: Directions:Step one: Play the recording and ask the Ss. to listen and read the conversation.Step two: Play the recording again and pause after each phrase, asking the Ss. to repeat chorally and individually.Step three: Put the Ss. into groups of 2 to practise the dialogue. Step four: They should repeat it several times, changing the roles each time.5. Task: Activity 5 on page 11. Directions:Step one: Pair the Ss to complete the sentences with the correct form of the words in the box in Activity 1.Step two: Ask some Ss to read them out in front of the classroom.Part IV: Pronunciation and speakingTask: Listen and repeat in Activity 7 Directions:Step one: Play the recording and ask the Ss. to listen and repeat in Activity 7.Step two: Ask the Ss to pay particular attention to the intonation and the sentence structure of the sentences.Step three: Pair the Ss to practise.Part V: A test Listen to the tape and translate some of the sentences into Chinese.Part VI: Homework: 1. Recite the short dialogue as fluently as possible.2. Have the Ss. spell them chorally and individually.2.Revise passive voice Part II : PreparationTask : Learn the new words.Directions: Label the pictures with the words.(1). Read through the words on the screen. Have the Ss. Repeat them after you. (2).Read the words separately and have them remember them. (3).Make some sentences with the words. (4) Call back the answers from the whole class.Part III: Scanning and Skimming1.Task: Read the passage and match the sentences with paragraphs. Directions:Step one: The teacher ask the Ss to look at the screen and ask them to match the sentences with paragraphs.Step two: Ss read the passage and match the sentences with paragraphs.Step three: Call back the answers from the whole class, having individuals read out the answers.2. Task: Read the passage again and complete the table with the information about The Adventure of Tom Sawyer in activity 3. Directions:Step one: Read through the table and make sure the Ss understand what they mean. Ss read the passage and complete the table with the information about The Adventure of Tom Sawyer in activity 3individually and check with a partner.Step two: Call back the answers from the whole class, having individuals read out the answers.3.Task: Answer the questions in activity4. Directions:Step one: Read through the questions and make sure the Ss understand what they mean. The themes of the story are to do with children growing up and becoming more serious .故事的主題和孩子們的成長以及變得成熟穩(wěn)重有關(guān).be/have to do with sb. / sth.表示:“和某人/某事、有關(guān)”。如: My question has to do with yesterdays homework.我的問題和昨天的作業(yè)有關(guān)。 In the evening he likes to read books. These books have nothing to do with work.晚上他喜歡看書,這些書都與他的工作無關(guān).2. Grammar:英語的語態(tài)是通過動(dòng)詞形式的變化表現(xiàn)出來的。英語中有兩種語態(tài):主動(dòng)語態(tài)和被動(dòng)語態(tài)。主動(dòng)語態(tài)表示主語是動(dòng)作的執(zhí)行者。例如:Many people speak Chinese.謂語:speak的動(dòng)作是由主語many people來執(zhí)行的。被動(dòng)語態(tài)表示主語是動(dòng)作的承受者,即行為動(dòng)作的對(duì)象。例如:Chinese is spoken by many people.主語English是動(dòng)詞speak的承受者。被動(dòng)語態(tài)由 “助動(dòng)詞be及物動(dòng)詞的過去分詞”構(gòu)成。人稱、數(shù)和時(shí)態(tài)的變化是通過be的變化表現(xiàn)出來的。一般現(xiàn)在時(shí)的被動(dòng)語態(tài)構(gòu)成:am/is/arep.p.(過去分詞)eg: 1) Shakespeares plays are seen by millions of people every year.2) Confucius works are still read by many people today.3) Mark Twain isnt known as a great thinker.4) Parents are respected by Chinese people.5) Many trees are planted along the two banks of the river. Part V: Language use1. Exercise 11on page 118 in the WB.Direction: Ss do it by themselves .Lets see who can finish it as soon as possible. Then discuss in pairs and finally share their answers with the class. 2.Give the students some time to recall what theyve learned in this class.Part VI: Homework: Recite the text. Task: Write a short passage about your favourite great book.DirectionsStep One: Think of your favourite great book or choose a book youd like to read. Use an encyclopaedia or the internet to help you if necessary.Step two: Now complete the table in Activity 3 with details about your favourite great book.Step three: Write a passage about your favourite great book. Use the passage in Activity 2 and your notes in Activity 6 to help you.My favourite great book is Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone by J.K.Rowling. Its a story about a young boyStep four: Work in pairs. Talk about your favourite book.Part III: Around the worldTask: Learn something about Plato.DirectionsStep One: Ask the Ss. to look at the different pictures about Plato. Tell the Ss. some knowledge about them.Step two: Read the text and answer any questions the Ss have.Part IV: Module Task Organising a class talkDirections:1. Activity 9 on page 17. Ask the Ss. to read the statement.2. Let the Ss make notes about why you agree or disagree with the statement.3. Circulate and monitor their production.4: Let the Ss practise their talk.
