Unit 7 Whats the highest mountain in the world?Section A 3a-3c教學設計淮南第二十中學 顧廣金本課的教學內(nèi)容是人教版八年級英語下冊第七單元的第二課時。該課時為重點課時,主要是通過閱讀策略的培養(yǎng),提高學生的閱讀能力。通過英語閱讀,既能夠練習學生的語音語調,便于提高英語聽力,又能夠積累語句,加強記憶,為英語寫作打下牢固的基礎,還可以組織學生進行創(chuàng)造性的實踐練習來豐富學生的英語閱讀空間。本課閱讀主要講的是珠穆朗瑪峰的相關知識和登山者為了夢想而努力奮斗的精神,這正是本課的情感目標。通過閱讀學習新詞匯和新句型,引導學生發(fā)現(xiàn)登山者身上自我挑戰(zhàn)的精神。本課題材跟登山有關,知識面廣,趣味性強,提高了學生的閱讀興趣。教學目標知識與技能1.Master the key words and expressions: paragraph, southwestern, thick, include, freezing, condition, take in, succeed, Japan, challenge, in the face of, achieve, force, nature2.Learn to compare facts and figures.3.Develop students reading and comprehensive skills.4. Grasp Superlative.過程與方法Employ task-based teaching mode, and get students to learn language points by reading and drilling.情感、態(tài)度與價值觀Lead students to love the nature.重點和難點重點1.Master the new words and expressions.2.Learn how to compare facts and figures.難點Develop students comprehensive skill.教學準備An English textbook and a project.教學過程Step I Lead inGreet the class as usual and check the homework.Step II Reading1.Teach the new words.(設計意圖:讓學生學會用音標讀單詞,學會自學自學,練習學生的口語。)First invite some students to read the new words to check their preview.Then, show the new words on the screen, lead students to read them. Call students attention to the pronunciation.After that, give students three minutes to practice reading these words.Work in pairs to check if they can pronounce and spell the words correctly.2.Translate the phrases.T: Read the passage alone, and underline some key words and expressions, and some difficult ones. Then translate the following phrases. First by yourselves and then discuss in groups. Finally, check the answers by asking some individual students.(Show the phrases on the screen.) 1.最危險的山峰; 2.世界上最危險的運動之一; 3.登山(名詞短語)/(動詞短語); 4.來自世界各地的登山者; 5.橫亙于中國的西南邊界; 6.在所有的山峰中; 7.厚厚的云層; 8.更為嚴重的困難; 9.寒冷的天氣狀況和強勁的暴風雪; 10.首次到達珠穆朗瑪峰頂?shù)娜?2.Teach Activity 3a.(設計意圖:訓練學生掠讀(skimming)能力。T: Have a look at the box. Then read the passage to match the ideas with each paragraph. Ss: Yes.T: OK. Lets begin.Give students several minutes to read and match the ideas.As they work, move around the room checking their pronunciation and intonation.T: Well, who volunteer to read the passage? OK, you first.Invite three students to read the passage. Each one read a paragraph and speak out the main idea.Check the answers together.Paragraph 1 Facts and dangersParagraph 2 Achievements of the climbersParagraph 3 Spirit of climbersStep III Practice(設計意圖:訓練學生查閱(scanning)能力。)1. Teach Activity 3b.Lead students to read the instruction and have a look at the headline in the chart to know what to do in this activity and how to do it.Give them enough time to read the passage again and complete the chart individually.Later, invite some students to check the answers.2. Teach Activity 3c.(Show the four questions in 3b on the screen.)T: The following are four questions. First, have a quick look at them to know what they are asking for. Then, find out the answers to them from the passage. Do it individually. You may check the answers with your deskmate after you finish doing it. Later, Ill invite some of you to present your answers. Do it now.Give students enough time to do this work.As they work, move around the room checking the progress.Finally, invite four students to answer the questions.T: Where are the Himalayas?S1: In the southwestern part of China.T: How high is Qomolangma?S2: 8,844.43 meters high.T: Why do so many people try to climb this mountain even though it is dangerous?S3: Because people want to challenge themselves in the face of difficulties.T: What does the spirit of the climbers tell us?S4: We should never give up trying to achieve our dreams.Step IV SummaryIn this class, we learned about Qomolangma well through a reading material.
