Unit 2 This is my sister (Period1)Good afternoon, my dear judges, it is my great honor to have this opportunity to talk about my teaching ideas/ sharing my teaching plan. To make it clear, I will intepret it from the following 6 aspects, which are Analysis of Teaching Material, Teaching objectives, Teaching Important and Difficult Points, teaching method , learning strategies as well as the Teaching Procedures.Part1 Analysis of the teaching materialThe teaching material is taken from PEP Grade seven Book 1, unit 2 “This is my sister” Section A. This lesson is in the 1 period of this unit, which is centered on the listening-speaking activities. And the topic is “The family”. Such a topic is related to our daily life, so it is easy to raise Ss learning interests and it will be also helpful to improve their spoken English.The language goals are “Introducing and identifying people”,so the teacher organizes a series of listening and speaking activities centering on the langage goals. Furthermore, the grammar in this unit focuses on the form of Singular noun Plural noun, and pronouns, and the grammar points will run through the teaching activities. 2. Teaching objectives:The new curriculum standard points out that the basic task of the middle school English teaching is to stimulate students interest in learning English, help them build self-confidence and form effective learning strategies so as to develop their abilities of independent study and team spirit. And accordingly the overall teaching objectives of this lesson are divided as follows:1)Knowledge objective:Learn and understand this new words:sister, mother, father, parent, brother, grandfather, grandmother, friend, these, are, those.Understand and use these sentence structures:This is my friend. These are my friends.That is my brother. Those are his brothers.2) Ability objective:Introduce people with these key sentence structures and make dialogues“A. This is, B. That is,C. These are,D. Those are.”3)Emotion objective: Ss will learn how to get well with others and how to be polite.3.Teaching important and difficult points:The teaching important and difficult points basis is established according to Section A of Unit 2 in the teaching materials position and function.Teaching important point: To identify form of Singular noun and Plural noun, the relationships of Pronouns this、that、these、those.While Teaching difficult points are Introducing people by using (This/that is my ) and identify form of Singular noun and Plural noun.4 Teaching methods As we all know: the main instructional aims of learning English in junior school is to cultivate students basic abilities of listening and speaking and their good sense of the English language. Besides, students in junior school are very curious, active and have strong imitation. So according to these points Ill mainly useDemonstration methodAudiolingual method (視聽法)task-based teaching methodsBesides, the multi-media, blackboard and a tape recorder are needed as the teaching aids.5 learning strategies1 Let the Ss study language throughObservationImitationPractice (觀察模仿實踐三步教學法) 2. Students learn some new words about family members,and how to introduce people.3. Students are encouraged to communicate with others. (Teach the Ss how to communicate with others by greeting others and ask their names.)6 Teaching proceduresStep1.Warm- up and Lead-inThis step will cost 5minutes.1. listen to a Chinese song .(爸爸的爸爸叫什么)2. Let Students write down names of family members theyve heard in the song in Chinese as many as possible. See who can write down the most names.The designed purpose:To motivate students interest in learning this lesson and create a relaxing atmosphere.Step2 PresentationThis step will cost 15 minutes.1.Show students a photo and then ask them some questions with the following sentences which they learned before.T:What is this in EnglishSs:Its a photo.T : Is this your photo?Ss: No, it isnt.T: Its my photo.3. Teacher uses the photo to introduce her family members with the sentence structure “This is my( and use the new words: mother, sister, mother, father, parent, brother, grandfather, grandmother)4.Learn new words.Teaching students new words with some relative photos and pictures. After that,students read the new words repeatedly one by one,group by group,and then read toghter.5.Put the names of family members in a family tree.The designed purpose: is to catch students attention,and make the study way lively and effective.Step3 Practice This step will cost 12 minutes.1. Task1Students try to find these people in the picture of activity 1a. Match the new words with people in the picture. 2. Students try to introduce people with these sentence structures:This/That is my .,These/Those are my(here the T pays attention to the form of plural nouns when ss are speaking)Task2: Play the tape (1b) twice. At the first time, students listen and look at the picture; and at the second time, students circle the people the boy talks about. Then ask some students to read their answers.2.To choose some pairs to talk about Daves family.(with the following sentence structures: This is his sister. These are his brothers)Teacher should give some examples. And students imitate.3.Task3: Listening to 2a twice. At first,students listen and circle the new words they hear; and then, students match the names with people in the picture. After that, pick some students to share their answers and Check the answers.The designed purpose:To check students understanding of the new words. See if they have got the meaning of the new words.The designed purpose:To give students opportunity to practice the new words and new sentences. Each student has chances to speak English.Step4 Consolidation (7mins)This step will cost 7 minutes.Students make a dialogue in pair with their photos with the key sentences structures.Ask two pairs to the platform to act out their dialogues.The designed purpose:The activity is to check students ability to use the new sentence structures to make dialogue.
