These deficits could be caused by vapors that were inhaled or absorbed by the body. The four humors were black bile, yellow

9、bile, phlegm, and blood. Bloodletting Bloodletting, a treatment based on the doctrine of four humors, was almost attributed with magical and panacea power in the past. It may seem ridiculous from todays point of view, but it was so firmly believed and widely practiced that you can almost find it any
