19、lat (GEPVP) - GEPVP is a European organisation consisting of the European Group of Flat Glass Manufacturers, Glaverbel, Pilkington, Saint Gobain and Guardian.2. Constructions Product Directive (CPD) the CPD was established was established to remove technical barriers to trade for construction produc

20、ts. With regard to glass products this would be achieved by the production of harmonised European technical standards, CENTC 129, specifically against the “Glass in Building” mandate (M135). The mandate covers flat glass, profiled glasses and glass block products.3. Harmonised European Norm (hEN) th

21、e hENs are European standards adopted by Comit Europen de Normalisation (CEN) following a mandate issued by the EC. They are developed through an open and transparent process, built on consensus between all interested parties.4. CE Marking the CE Marking is a symbol placed on either a product or pro

22、duct accompanying documentation. The CE Mark indicates that a product conforms to all the provisions of the CPD and hEN as required by the CPD. 5. System of Attestation of Conformity The Systems of Attestation of Conformity contained within the CPD detail the level of involvement of Notified Bodies

23、in the process of showing conformity. Dependant on the final intended use of the glass product a different System of Attestation may be applicable. From the available Systems of Attestation only 1,3 and 4 apply to Glass in Building. Refer to Appendix 2.6. Initial Type Testing (ITT) testing undertake

24、n by the manufacturer in the case of System of Attestation 4 and by a notified testing body in the case of Systems of Attestation 1 or 3. The test methods are contained within the supporting product standards.7. Factory Production Control (FPC) each hEN contains a set of factory production controls required to ensure the system operated within a factory meets all the relevant criteria set out in the hEN.
