3、orking closely with the publisher and with the publisher and with the other executives. Editor-in-chief supervises all the editors and editorial activities at his company. The editor-in-chief job is more administrative and strategic than editorial.4Managing editor(責(zé)任編輯):The one who is a kind of traf

4、fic cop for the department. It is the managing editors task to know where every manuscript is at any given moment after it has been accepted-whether it is being copyeditor, being designed, in production, or being printed. The managing editor coordinates the editorial and production schedules, an ext

5、remely difficult job in itself, and in some houses he or she may work with authors or route incoming manuscript to editors. The publisher presides, and the journal that are up for acceptance are considered.9The copy editor(文字編輯): Copyediting is a kind of work virtually unknown to the public and often underestimated or misunderstood even by

10、editors and others in publishing houses.In its basic form, it means taking the manuscript of a journal and reading through it meticulously, correcting errors of spelling, usage, and grammar.At the same time, the copy editor is doing what is called styling the journal for the printer.10Jobs in Journa

20、 that it is difficult to develop sixteen characters in any depth. But they have to be since the reader develops an emotional stake in the story. Since this novel is a quest for the Holy Grail, the reader needs to see and understand all of the characters, from King Arthur to the lowest knight. The ea

21、siest way to approach this dilemma is to concentrate on only six characters so the reader becomes attached to a small, manageable number of people.Page . 8 line 3: several technical problems. 28、veteran reporters copy but enough maturity not to rewrite everything into your own style.The ability to handle people whether stringers or staff, sources or subscribers.Sound business and management skills.A clear vision of the publications purpose, its personality, and the audience and advertisers

29、to whom it appeals, as well as expertise, if possible, in the publications specialty.A strong sense of responsibility. “The buck stops here,” as President Harry Trumans desk sign read. 23ATTENTIONA willingness to work anonymously behind a desk for eight hours a day.
