My topic is Unit 6 I am going to study computer science. Section B 1a-1e in Grade 8 Book 1. It is a listening
2、and speaking class. Id like to explain from what to learn, how to learn and why to learn. Ill present my lesson from 4 aspects. Analysis of the Teaching Material and students Teaching Material: The topics are closely related to students daily life. The topic of Unit 6 is no exception. It talks about
3、 life goals in the future. In section A, students have learned some vocabularies about future jobs, so it makes vocabulary and target language preparation for section B.In this period, it is also about the topic: New Years resolutions and other resolutions. It is also connected with the next period
4、in this unit: reading and even connect Book 3 Unit7 Will people have robots? It is a connecting link between the preceding and the following. The target language in this period focus on future with be going to and want to be.Students have learned the simple future tense in section A. So, it would be
5、 easy to figure out the topic. The function is to talk about future intentions. Students will discuss their resolutions fluently by listening and speaking skills. After learning 1a-1b, students can understand how to make their own New Years resolutions. It is easy for students to have a better under
6、standing about the listening part: 1c-1d. At last, they can discuss other resolutions with their group. Students: The students of grade 8 are Intermediate learners. They can talk about some life goals and activities by listening and speaking skills and they can also share their opinions and experien
7、ce with strong desire. They are not beginners, they have learned the first period in Section A. so it will not be difficult for them to understand the listening material and finish the oral practice. Many students tend to listen the conversation from the beginning to the end word by word without loo
8、king at the pictures and reading the requirements carefully, so they need to improve their listening skills such as observing the pictures carefully and making predictions, going through the statements and finding some useful information. When expressing their opinions about resolutions, the student
9、s may tend to think about the reasons and give the comments. So the teacher can help them expand their vocabulary and phrases when necessary. = 2 * ROMAN II Teaching ObjectivesKnowledge and ability Objectives1) Be able to master the new words and expressions about New Years resolutions.2) Be able to
10、 predict some useful information before listening according to observe the pictures and reading the instructions carefully.3) Be able to discuss and share New Years resolutions and other resolutions fluently.2. Cultural & Emotional Objectives1) To learn about different resolutions between Chinese st
11、udents and foreign students;2) To be willing to talk about the resolutions and set up a healthy and positive life goals;3) To be understand: No preparation, no success.3. Learning Strategies 1) To learn the listening strategy: Look at the picture before listening, read the instructions and statement
12、s carefully, learn to predict before listening. 2) Communicative strategy: To be able to properly discuss different resolutions; Use the sentence structure future with“ be going to “to talk about the future intentions; To be able to give some reasons and comments. = 3 * ROMAN III Teaching Procedures
13、 Step1: Teacher draw a dream tree on the Bb and encourage students to talk about their future jobs and how to achieve their dreams by asking questions What do you want to be when you grow up? and How are you going to do that? This aims to create a real-life situation for learning, help students reca
14、ll words about future jobs. It can train learning strategies, such as mind-mapping. Step2: There are 3 tasks in 1a. First, observe the 5 pictures and describe the activities he is going to do. Then, Show the activities for each picture. According to the activity list, students should understand reso
15、lution means plans for the future. At last, match the pictures with the New Years resolutions 1-5. After students can have a deeply understanding about New Years resolutions. Step3: Oral practice:Task1 : Read the conversation and fill in the chartTask 2: Pair work. First, ask students to write down
16、their New Years resolutions on the colorful Paper and write down some reasons. Then, do the Pair worksDiscuss: What are the differences between Chinese students resolutionsand foreign students resolutions? Step4. Listening practice 1cTask1:Pre-listening: circle some key words before listening.Task2:
17、 While listening: Listen and circle the resolutions in 1aTask3: Post listening: check answers: He/ She is going to Step5 Listening practice: 1dTask1: Pre-listening: First, observe the picture and answer the following questions 1. How many students discussion in the picture? 2. Predict what are they
