Period4“介詞+關(guān)系代詞”引導(dǎo)的定語從句“介詞+關(guān)系代詞”引導(dǎo)的定語從句是一個(gè)難點(diǎn),也是高考的重要考點(diǎn)。其使用的關(guān)系代詞一般是which,whom或whose,在句中既可以引導(dǎo)限制性定語從句,也可以引導(dǎo)非限制性定語從句。在學(xué)習(xí)時(shí)我們要注意以下幾點(diǎn):

(1)關(guān)系代詞的選用在介詞后作賓語的關(guān)系代詞一般只有which,whose和whom。如果先行詞是物,引導(dǎo)詞用which;如果先行詞是人,則引導(dǎo)詞用whom;whose適用于兩者。ThisistheshipbywhichIwenttoShanghai.這是我去上海時(shí)所乘坐的船。ThisisthestudentforwhomIboughtthebook.這是我給買書的那個(gè)學(xué)生。ThebossinwhosefirmIworkedfor10yearsretiredyesterday.我供職十年的那家公司的老板昨天退休了。(2)介詞的選用確定“介詞+關(guān)系代詞”中介詞的方法主要有以下四種:①根據(jù)定語從句中的謂語動(dòng)詞或形容詞來選用ThefellowtowhomIspokemadenoansweratfirst.和我說話的那個(gè)人起先沒有回答。(speakto)TheWestLake,forwhichHangzhouisfamous,isabeautifulplace.西湖是個(gè)美麗的地方,杭州以此而聞名。(befamousfor)②根據(jù)先行詞來確定Inhisroom,wesawabigtableonwhichtherewereallkindsofbooks.在他的屋子里,我看見一張上面放著各種書的大桌子。(onthetable)Yesterdaywehadameetingatwhichwediscussedmanyproblems.昨天我們開了一個(gè)會(huì),會(huì)上我們討論了許多問題。(atthemeeting)③根據(jù)定語從句所表達(dá)的意義來確定Air,withoutwhichmancan’tlive,isreallyimportant.空氣確實(shí)太重要了,沒有它人類就不能生存。④有時(shí)需要同時(shí)考慮動(dòng)詞和介詞的搭配關(guān)系及介詞和先行詞的搭配關(guān)系Thecleverboymadeaholeinthewallthroughwhichhecouldseewhatwashappeninginsidethehouse.這個(gè)聰明的孩子在墻上挖了一個(gè)洞通過它看到屋里面發(fā)生的事情。(seesomethingthroughthehole)(3)介詞的位置介詞若與從句中的動(dòng)詞詞組有關(guān),可置于關(guān)系代詞前,也可置于動(dòng)詞后,但若此介詞與動(dòng)詞為固定詞組,則此介詞一般不前置。例如:①YesterdaywepaidavisittothehouseinwhichLuXunoncelived.→YesterdaywepaidavisittothehousewhichLuXunoncelivedin.昨天,我們參觀了魯迅的故居。②ThisistheverypenthatI’mlookingfor.這就是我正在尋找的那支鋼筆。(lookfor為固定詞組,介詞for不前置)③Thepatientwhomthenurselookedafterwasbecomingbetterandbetter.(lookafter為固定搭配,介詞after不前置)那護(hù)士照顧的那個(gè)病人正在好轉(zhuǎn)。(4)在限制性定語從句中,介詞前置時(shí),關(guān)系代詞不能用that,且不能省略;若介詞后置,則可以用that,也可以省略。

例如:ThisistheschoolinwhichIstudied3yearsago.這就是三年前我在此學(xué)習(xí)過的那所學(xué)校。→Thisistheschool(which/that)Istudiedin3yearsago.(5)表示所屬關(guān)系時(shí),介詞應(yīng)用of,關(guān)系代詞為which/whom,即n.+of+which/whom,可轉(zhuǎn)換為whose+n.。例如:①Helivesinaroom,thewindowofwhichfaceswest.→Helivesinaroomwhosewindowfaceswest.他住在一個(gè)房間里,房間的窗子向西開著。②Thechildwassavedbyaman,thenameofwhomwasnotknown.

→Thechildwassavedbyaman,whosenamewasnotknown.這個(gè)孩子被一位不知姓名的男子所救。(6)表示“整體中的一部分”或“……中最……的”,介詞
