Anadvantageofthistypeofbrakeisthenearlyequalbrakeliningwearonbothshoesandthehigherinternaltransmissionratioincomparisontosimplexbrakes.Withtwoleadingshoes,brakefactorsofC*≈3.0areachieved,however,thesefigurescannotbeheldconstantthroughoutalongperiodofbrakingduetothesusceptibilitytofadingofthistypeofbrake.
