QUALIFICATIONS
Minimumhiring,languageandphysicalrequirementstoperformthejob.Hiringrequirements:twoorthreeyearspreviousbarserverexperience,preferablyina4or5starrestaurant,lounge,hoteletc.abilitytoworkindependentlyto,quicklyandaccurately,takeandserverdrinkorders.workingknowledgeofvaringbrandsandqualityofliquorsandbeers.workingknowledgeofvaringbrandsandqualityofwinepreferred.workingknowledgeofpublichealthstandards.workingknowledgeofcashregistersand/orrelatedcomputerizedsystems.Abilitytoperformbasicmathfunctionswithregardtocalculatingtips,discountsandpercentages.abilitytoup-sellandpromotedrinksandspecials.abilitytoapplycustomerserviceskills,accordingtoRoyalCaribbeanInternational’sgoldanchorstandards,pletionofhighschoolorbasicaducationequivalencypreferred.
Hiringrequirements:AdditionalHiringrequirementsforspecialbars:Englishpub1.PreviousbartendingexperienceinanauthenticEnglishpubispreferred.2.abilityandwillingnesstocreateandemphasizeanEnglishpubatmosphere.3.knowledgeoflager,bitters,beerorotherEnglishbeverages.Golfbar:1.knowledgeofthegamegolf,lifestylesofgolfersandgolfpersonalities.2.abilityandwillingnesstoconversewithgueststocreateandemphasizeangolfbaratmosphere.Sportsbar:1.PreviousbartendingexperienceinSportsbarispreferred.2.knowledgeofvariousdomesticandinternationalsportssuchasAmericanfootball,basketball,baseballandinternationalsoccerandcricket.abilityandwillingnesstoconversewithgueststocreateandemphasizethesportsbaratmosphere.Languagerequirements:abilitytospeakEnglishclearly,distinctlyandcordiallywithguests.abilitytoreadandwriteEnglishinordertounderstandandinterpretwrittenprocedures.Thisincludestheabilitytogiveandreceiveinstructionsinwrittenandverbalformsandtoeffectivelypresentinformationandrespondtoquestionsfromguests,supervisorandco-workers.abilitytospeakadditionallanguagessuchasSpanish,FrenchandGermanpreferred.Physicalrequirements:whileperformingthedutiesofthisjob,theshipboardemployeeisregularlyrequiredtostand;walk;usehandstotouch,handle,orfeel;reachwithhandsandarms;talko
