Asthepresident,you'dbeinterestedinboththepositiveandnormativeviewsofeconomists,butyou'dprobablybemostinterestedintheirpositiveviews.Economistsareonyourstafftoprovidetheirexpertiseabouthowtheeconomyworks.Theyknowmanyfactsabouttheeconomyandtheinteractionofdifferentsectors.Soyouwouldbemostlikelytocallonthemaboutquestionsoffactpositiveanalysis.Sinceyouarethepresident,youaretheonewhohastomakethenormativestatementsastowhatshouldbedone,withaneyetothepoliticalconsequences.Thenormativestatementsmadebyeconomistsrepresenttheirownviews,notnecessarilyyourviewsortheelectorate’sviews.10.
