Aftercompletingmytraining,Iwassenttothevillagethatwas

smallanddesperatelyinneedofproperaccommodation.Thoughthe

localvillagerswerepoor,theyofferedtheirhomes,hearts,andfoodas

ifIweretheirownfamily.Iwasaskedtoleadasmallteamoflocalpeople

inbuildinganewschoolhouse.Forthenextyearorso,Itaughtinthat

sameschoolhouse.ButIsometimesthinkIlearnedmorefrommy

studentsthantheydidfromme.

Sometimeduringthatperiod,Irealizedthatallthosethingsthat

hadseemedsostrangeorunusualtomenolongerdid,thoughIdidnot

getanywherewiththelocallanguage,andIreturnedtotheUnited
