olvesthedefinition,strategy,translationcriticism,translationteaching,literarytranslationandnonliterarytranslation.Inrecentyears,manyarticlescombinetheskopostheory.Exploreappropriatetranslationstrategiestofurtherimprovethequalityoftranslation.Chinesescholarshavepublishedhundredsofarticlesonvariousacademicjournalsandessays.In2001and2004,theShanghaiForeignLanguageTeachingpublishinghouseintroducedtheEnglishtranslationofSkoposintothebook:"PurposefulBehavior:AnalyticfunctionaltranslationTheory"andRice's"translationcriticism-potentialandconstraints."TheChineseprefaceisattached.Chinesescholarscombinetranslationteleologywithothertheories,andtherearemanyworksthatcomparetheSkopostheorywiththetraditionalChinesetranslationtheories,suchasZhouManganese's"teleologyandfaithfulness-elegance-comparisonbetweentwoChineseandWesterntranslationtheories",TaoYoulan's"translationteleology",theconstructionofe-ctranslationtextbooks,andtheYangPingFunctionalteleologyandChinese-Englishtranslationteaching,aswellasthelaterZhangMeifang's"functionalapproachoftranslationstudies"andotherrelatedarticles.ManyChinesescholars,suchasZhangnan,Chen,Zhongwei,Jiavenpo,Zili,ZhouHongminandsoon,haveintroducedandstudiedtheSkopostheoryoffunctionalisttranslation.Inforeigncountries,theteleologyoftranslationandthethe1970sriseinGermany,itsdevelopmenthasundergoneseveralstages:thefirststageisKatherineRice.Firstly,thefunctionalcategoryisintroducedintotranslationcriticism,whichisrelatedtolanguagefunction,discoursetypeandtranslationstrategy,anddevelopsthetranslationcriticismmodelbasedonthefunctionalrelationshipbetweenthetranslationandthetranslation.Putforwardtheembryonicformofthetheorythoughtofthefunctionschool.ThesecondstageistheSkopostheoryproposedbyHans-Fimir(Vermcer),translationstudiesarefreedfromthebondageoftheoriginaltext,whichholdsthattranslationisapurposefulandresult-orientedactbasedontheoriginaltext,andthatthelawtobefollowedbythetranslationisthelawofpurpose,thelawofcoherenceandtheprincipleoffidelity,Fimirthattheprincipleofpurposeisthehighestlawintranslation.ThethirdstageisJusta*Hotz-Mantaritodrawonthecommunicativeandbehavioraltheoryandputforwardthetheoryoftranslationbehavior.ThestagefourissummedupandperfectedbyChristina.Theresearchofteleologyathomeandabroadmakesitsskoposoftranslationlayafoundationinthefuturedevelopment.Asacarrierofinterculturalcommunication,thestudyofpublicsignsisindispensableintheresearchofforeignanddomestic.Athome,inthestudyofthepublicsignslanguageisnotsothorough,Chinesescholarsfrom1994to2004ofthe10-yearperiodonlypublished3relatedpapers,accordingtothestudyoftheearlyattentiontofocusonthelanguageofthetranslationstudyofwhatnature,inhiseditoroftheintersectionofsocialPragmatics,ScholarshavebeguntopayattentiontotheEnglishtranslationofpublicsignsandtheproblemsofpragmaticfailureintheperspectiveoflanguagelearning(whatnature,1998quotedfromZhao2006)NushumbinandLiuJiTheauthorspublishedanarticleentitled"PrinciplesandexamplesoftheEnglishtranslationofMarkedness"in1998inthesecondphaseof"ShanghaiScienceandTechnologytranslation",Inthefuture,thereareseveralarticlesonthetranslationstudyofpublicsigns,whicharefoundinsomeperiodicalsinChina.Butthiskindofresearchhasnotformedthesystematicresearchinthedomestic,alsodidnotarousethesufficientattention.UntilthefollowingyearsZhaoYuzhang(2006),Zhaoyan(2007),LiguangL,XuWeiandChenghui(2009)haveputforwardthetranslationstatusandtranslationerrorsofpublicsigns.Inforeigncountries,foreignscholarsthinkthatthetranslationofpublicsignsisChinese-English,GermanyoungscholarGuichetheChinesepublicinChinatomakeapictureofChineseEnglishtouploadtotheblog,butalsoasthethemeofthe"DailylifeofChinglish,"abook,latertheAmericanforeignteacherofZhejiangUniversity,AllansonChuckandZhouChongmingCooperation(2004)inChinglishpresentedthevariousChinglishstatementshehadheardduringhisfiveyearsinChina.Asapartofpublicsigns,thehotelpublicsignsisofgreatsignificanceathomeandabroad,andtherelevantresearchathomeandabroadhasmadegreatcontributiontothefuturedevelopmentofvarioustheoriesandthetranslationstudyafterpublicsigns,whichlaysthefoundationofresearch.2.2RelevantConcept2.2.1FunctionalSkoposTheroyEnteringthe21stcentury,China'stranslationmarketisbooming,andtranslationtheoryhasenteredaperiodofrapiddevelopment.Theprominentfeatureofthisstageisthecombinationoftranslationtheoryandtranslationpracticeresearch.Atthesametime,asthecoreoffunctionalisttranslationtheory,functionalteleologyoftenappearsinthemajorperiodicals,papers,websearches,literarytranslationandtranslationconferencesduringthatperiod.WiththecontinuousspreadoffunctionalisttranslationtheoryinChina,ithasbecomemoreandmorecloselyrelatedtoChinesetranslationpractice.Thepurposeofthetranslationprocessistoplayaleadingrole.Asaresult,manytranslatorstakeintoaccounttheoriginalpurposeofthesourcetextwhendoingtranslationwork.Inotherwords,theirtranslationtasksareguidedbyteleology.Forexample,whendoingsomeadvertisingtranslation,thetranslatorshouldfirstconsiderthepurposeoftranslation.Theywanttoknowwhattheadvertisingaudienceislike.Onlybyidentifyingtheaudiencecantheappropriatetranslationstrategiesbechosen.Thisapproachalsoappliestotrademarks,films,touristattractions,chemicalsubstancesandotheraspectsoftranslation.Inaword,thepurposeoftranslatingthesourcetextdeterminesthechoiceoftranslationstrategiesandmethods.2.2.2TranslationSkoposTheory"Skopos"isaGreekwordthatmeans"purpose"forthepurpose.Teleologyholdsthattheaimisthemainprincipletobefollowedintheprocessoftranslation.Comparedwithprevioustranslationtheories,teleologybegantoemphasizetheimportanceoftranslators,whichismostlyoverlookedinothertranslationtheories.Asordinarypeople,iftranslatorsthinkoftranslationasameansofearningaliving,theymustconsidertheadviceoftheiremployer,thestyleofthesourcetextandthereader.Butiftranslatorsareonlyinterestedintranslating,theywillvaluethefunoftranslation.Drivenbythispurpose,thetranslator'stranslationstrategywillbedifferentfromthoseofthecommercialtranslation.Inotherwords,thepurposedeterminesthemodeoftranslation.Undertheguidanceoftheprincipleofpurpose,thetranslator'spositionhasbeenimprovedandfurtherenrichedthetranslationstrategy.2.3ThreeRulesoftheSkoposTheory2.3.1TheSkoposRulesTeleologyholdsthatalltranslationactivitiesareguidedbytheprincipleof"purpose",thatis,translationshouldbeabletofunctioninthecontextandcultureofthetranslatedlanguage,inthemannerexpectedbytherecipientofthetranslator.Thepurposeoftranslationbehavioristodeterminethewholeprocessoftranslationbehavior,thatis,theresultdecisionmethod.2.3.2TheCoherenceRulesThetranslationmustconformtothestandardofinta-textualcoheence,thatis,thereadabilityandacceptabilityofthetranslatedtext,whichcanmaketherecipientunderstandandhavemeaninginthecommunicativecontextofthetranslationofthehumanlanguagecultureandtheuseofthetargetlanguage.Theprincipleoffidelity(Fidelityule)referstotheexistenceofinterlingualcoherence(inte-textualcoheence)betweentheoriginaltextandthetranslation.ThisisequivalenttowhatothertranslationtheoriesarecalledFaithfultotheoriginaltext,butthedegreeandformoffidelitytotheoriginaltextdependsonthepurposeofthetranslationandthetranslator'sunderstandingoftheoriginal.2.3.3TheFidelityRulesThiswasproposedbytheNord.Shefoundtwomajorflawsinteleology:firstly,becauseofthedifferencesofculturalpatterns,peoplefromdifferentculturalbackgroundshavedifferentviewsongoodtranslations,andifthecommunicativepurposeofthetranslationrequiredbytheobjectiveprincipleiscontrarytotheintentionoftheoriginalauthor,thenwewillabidebytheprincipleofpurposeandviolatetheprincipleoffidelity.Therefore,heproposedtheprincipleofloyaltytoaddressculturaldifferencesandtherelationshipbetweentheparticipantsintranslationactivities.Inhisview,thetranslatorhasamoralresponsibilitytotherecipientofthetranslationandmustexplaintothemwhattheyhavedoneandwhy.2.4TheDevelopmentandInfluenceofSkoposTheory2.4.1TheDevelopmentandInfluenceinEnglishTranslationFunctionalisttranslationtheorynotonlyinheritstheessenceoftraditionaltranslationtheory,butalsobreaksitslimit.Functionalisttranslationtheorynotonlybreaksthroughthetheoryoffunctionalequivalenceoftraditionalstructuralism,butalsobeginstostudytranslationfromanewangle.Structuralismconsiderstranslationtobeadynamicandsimpleencodinganddecodingbehavior.Accordingtothetheoryoffunctionalequivalence,therearedifferentdegreesofequivalencebetweendifferentlanguages.Thefunctionalisttheorythinksthattranslationisnotonlytheconversionoftwolanguages,butalsothetranslationfocusfromthesourcetexttothetranslatoritself.Functionalisttheoryhasalsobeguntopayspecialattentiontotheimportanceofapplyingtranslationstrategiestobroadenthescopeoftranslationresearchintoamorediverseworld.2.4.2TheDevelopmentandInfluenceinChineseTranslationThedevelopmentoftranslationinChinalagsbehindthewesternworld.GuiYuan,ascholarofChinainthe1987,firstintroducedfunctionalisttranslationtheoryinhisarticle"ThreetranslatorsoftheFederalRepublicofGermany"(Gui,1987).ThisistheearliestarticleonGermanfunctionalisttranslationtheory.ThisarticlemainlyintroducedtheGermanfunctionalisttranslationtheoryseveralrepresentativefigures.Althoughsucharticlesareveryfew,thisarticlegivesChinesetranslatorsagoodstartinunderstandingthelatesttranslationtheories.AfterGuiyuan,moreandmorescholarshaveintroducedfunctionalisttranslationtheorytoChina,sothestudyoffunctionalisttranslationtheoryhascometoapeak.3.TheFrameofHotelPublicSigns3.1TheDefinitionofHotelPublicSignsPublicsigns,alsoknownasslogans,signs,logos,etc.,arewidelyusedinhotels,supermarkets,shoppingmallsandotherplaces.Asanimportantpartofthehumanisticenvironmentandthelanguageenvironmentoftheinternationalcityandtouristdestination,itrepresentsthehumanisticqualityandexternalimageofthecity.Intermsofhotelsigns,itsrolecannotbeunderestimated,itisdirectlyrelatedtotheforeignguestsonthehotel,thewholecityandeventhewholecountryimpression.Accordingtothefunctionandfunctionsofpublicsigns,itcanbedividedintofourcategories:indicative,suggestive,restrictiveandmandatorypublicsigns.Accordingtothehotel'spublicsigns,foreignguestscanenjoytheservicestheyneedandknowthehotelregulationstheyarerequiredtoc
