9Test1Someexpertsbelievethat9Test1Someexpertsbelievethatitisbetterforchildrentobeginlearningaforeignlanguageatprimaryschoolratherthansecondaryschool.DotheadvantagesofthisoutweightheSamplethatchildrenshouldstartaforeignlanguagesincetheirprimaryschool.Personally,Ireckonthatthisproposalwillcausemoreharmotherthanbenefitstochildren.Admittedly,itwillbemuchmoreadvantageousforchildrentolearnanewAdmittedly,itwillbemuchmoreadvantageousforchildrentolearnanewlanguageatanearlyScientistssubstantiatethatyoungkidshavealreadyformedthecognitivecapabilitytodistinguishtheforeignlanguagefromtheirmothertongue,letalonethechildrenover7year‐old.Indeed,children’sintrinsiccuriosityandlanguagegiftcanmakeiteasierforthemtomastertheforeignlanguagecomparedwiththosewhohavegetusedtothepatternoftheirownlanguage.StatisticspresentthatmostSwisschildrencanspontaneouslymasteratleastthreelanguagessincetheir9,especiallythoseforotheractivities.Indeed,studentsatthisagearesupposedtocultivateavarietyofinterestsandhobbiesinsteadoflearningaforeignlanguage.Spendingextraenergyonlanguagelearningmightnotbesuchreasonableandworthwhile,sincechildren’ssparetimeisactuallylimited.Accordingtothetheoryofopportunitycost,childrenwillprobablyidentifytheirmarvelouspotentialinotherdomainswiththetimewhichtheyspendonlanguage,suchasplayingballgamesormusicalinstruments.Inaddition,learningaforeignlanguagetooearlymightsomehowfrustratechildren’sinitiative.Tosomeextent,languagestudyisnotasthatsimpleassomepeopleimagine,especiallywhenrelevantexamsareinvolvedintheprocess.Oncetheyfailinapproachingitattheverybeginning,theymayharboranabhorrentattitudetowardanyotherlanguage,whichgoesagainsttheinitialpurposeoftheToconclude,IamconvincedthatstartingaforeignToconclude,Iamconvincedthatstartingaforeignlanguagefromtheprimaryschoolwillbringunrewardingconsequences.IproposethattheycandoitwhentheyhavestrongerstudyPersonally,Ireckonthatthisproposalwillcausemoreharmotherthanbenefitstoforeignlanguagefromtheirmothertongue,letalonethechildrenover7Oncetheyfailinapproachingitattheverybeginning,theymayharbo
