中國學(xué)生理解英語中表示“憤怒”的習語的制約因素的綜述報告IntroductionLanguageisoneofthemostcomplexsystemsofcommunication.Itisnotjustacollectionofwordsandgrammarrules;itisalsoaboutexpressionsandidiomaticphrasesthatcanmakecommunicationmorecomplicated,especiallyforsecondlanguagelearners.OneareathathasbeenchallengingforChinesestudentsofEnglishisunderstandingidiomaticexpressionsusedtoconveyangerorfrustration.ThisreportaimstoprovideacomprehensiveoverviewofthefactorsthatlimittheabilityofChinesestudentstocomprehendEnglishidiomsthatexpressanger.BackgroundIdiomaticexpressionsarewordsorphrasesthathaveafigurativeormetaphoricalmeaningthatisnotclearfromtheliteraldefinitionsoftheindividualwords.Idiomaticexpressionscancreateabarrierforsecondlanguagelearnerstryingtounderstandthemeaningofspokenandwrittenlanguage.Studentsmustnotonlyknowthewordsinthephrasebutalsounderstandtheircontextualusage.Thisaspectcanalsoposeabigchallengetolearnersasidiomaticexpressionsneedtobetaughtasacompleteunitinsteadofjustacollectionofwords.ChinesestudentswhoarelearningEnglishtypicallyhaveagoodgraspofthebasicvocabularyandgrammar.However,whenitcomestoidiomaticexpressions,studentsoftenstruggletounderstandtheirmeaningandusage.ThisisbecauseEnglishidiomsareuseddifferentlyfromChineseidioms.Chineseidiomsarecomposedoffourorfewercharactersandareoftenusedinawidevarietyofsituations.However,Englishidiomscanbelongerandareoftenusedinveryspecificcontexts.Additionally,theidiomsusedtoexpressangerandfrustrationcanbeparticularlychallengingforlearners.FactorsthatLimitChineseStudents’ComprehensionofEnglishIdioms1.CulturalandlinguisticdifferencesOnesignificantchallengethatChinesestudentsfacewhenlearningEnglishidiomsisthevastculturalandlinguisticdifferencesbetweenEnglishandChinese.ThestructureandusageofidiomsinEnglishlanguagearecompletelydifferentfromthatofChineselanguage,andthisculturalandlinguisticgapcreatesasignificantobstacletolearningidiomsinEnglish.InChinese,idiomsareoftenusedinformalsituationssuchasinliteratureandimportantspeeches.TheidiomsaredeeplyrootedinChineseculture,andtheyareoftenassociatedwithhistoricalandliteraryevents.However,inEnglish,idiomscanbeusedinawidevarietyofsituationsandcontexts,makingitmoredifficultforChinesestudentstounderstandthem.2.LimitationsoftranslationAnotherfactoristhedifficultyoftranslatingidioms.Translatingidiomsfromonelanguagetoanotherischallengingbecauseidiomsarehighlycontextualandmeaningcannotbeconveyedsimplybytranslatingindividualwords.Ratherthanbeingtranslatedword-for-word,Englishidiomsneedtobeexplainedinthecontextoftheoverallsentenceorphrase.ThiscanbechallengingwhenlearningEnglish,especiallywhenstudentstrytotranslatefromChineseidiomstoEnglishidioms.3.LimitedExposureChinesestudentsalsohavealimitedexposuretoEnglishidioms,whichcanmakeitchallengingforthemtounderstandtheusageandcontextualuseofidioms.Unlikenativespeakers,wholearnidiomsthroughnaturallanguageacquisition,ChinesestudentshavetoexplicitlystudyidiomsinEnglish.AnotherdifficultyrelatestothechallengeofmemorizingidiomsinEnglishastherearemanyidioms,eachwithdifferentmeaningsandusage.4.ComplexGrammarInaddition,thecomplexgrammaticalstructuresusedinidiomaticexpressionscanmakeitchallengingforChinesestudentstounderstandtheirusage.Forinstance,phrasalverbsandprepositionsarefrequentlyusedtocreateidiomaticexpressionsinEnglish,andthiscanbechallengingforstudentswhoarenotfamiliarwiththesegrammaticalstructures.Thelackofproperunderstandingofthesegrammaticalelementscanactasahindranceforthestudentsinunderstandingthecontextofidiomaticexpressions.5.PronunciationdifferencesFinally,pronunciationdifferencescanalsomakeitdifficultforChinesestudentstounderstandidiomsinEnglish.CertainEnglishidiomscontainsoundsthatdonotexistinthephoneticsystemofMandarin,whichcancausedifficultieswhentryingtocomprehendtheseidioms.Thesoundsofcertainletters,suchas/v/and/w/,areoftenconfusedbyChinesestudentsduetotheirphoneticdifferencefromtheChineselanguage.ConclusionInconclusion,ChinesestudentsfacevariousdifficultiesincomprehendingEnglishidiomsthatexpressanger.Cultural,linguisticdifferencesbetweenEnglishandChinese,limitedtranslationcapabilities,limitedexposure,complexgrammaticalstructures,anddifferencesinpronunciationandphoneticsposeasignificantchallengetoChinesestudents.Educatorsmustfocusonincorporatingavarietyoflearningtechniquestohelpstudentsovercometheseobstacles.Thiscanincludeusingmultimediaresources,investingin
