“EalinghadwantedSantanderCyclesforquitesometime,butit’squitefarout(fromcentralLondon)andtheyareexpensivetoputinplace,”saidStevePyer,UKgeneralmanagerforMobike.“Wejusthadtomakesurethatalltheapprovalswiththecouncil

wereinplace,andthatwehadsetupthepreferredlocationsforthebikes.”

JulianBell,leaderofEalingCouncil,saidhesoughtassurancesthebikeswouldnotclutter

publicareas,aproblemthatcurrentlyplaguesmanyChinesecities.“Iwasveryenthusiastic
