一、教材分析

閱讀文本是一則專題新聞,文本語言屬于即時(shí)性的新聞報(bào)道。從首句中的yesterday可以推斷,

新聞發(fā)布于海嘯的第二天,體現(xiàn)了新聞報(bào)道的時(shí)效性。最后一段提到后續(xù)傷亡人數(shù)可能會(huì)增加,以

及救援工作的困難,突出了災(zāi)難的嚴(yán)重性,也提示了還會(huì)有后續(xù)的跟蹤報(bào)道。文本語言表達(dá)準(zhǔn)確、

簡明扼要,只講述具體事實(shí),不帶感情色彩,通過數(shù)字說明受災(zāi)第二天的損失和傷亡情況。新聞報(bào)道

的語言需要高度凝練而且表達(dá)有力。語篇中與災(zāi)害有關(guān)的一系列動(dòng)詞的使用也凸顯了這一特點(diǎn),例

如:crashedinto,weresweptaway,struck,thenumberofdeath,stoodat,wereaffected,hadbeenkilled,

werefounddead,weremissing等等。

文章標(biāo)題醒目,直接說明事件,能讓讀者馬上獲知新聞報(bào)道的主要內(nèi)容。文本交代了海嘯發(fā)生

的時(shí)間、地點(diǎn)、范圍、原因、受災(zāi)情況,以及救援行動(dòng)等。不同于簡短的新聞報(bào)道,專題報(bào)道的文

本更豐富,如加入了當(dāng)?shù)鼐用窈凸賳T的話語,加強(qiáng)了真實(shí)感。此外,該文本的設(shè)計(jì)和配圖都是英文報(bào)

刊的常見形式,報(bào)紙名稱、新聞標(biāo)題、記者姓名和發(fā)稿日期都出現(xiàn)在版面上。

該板塊的活動(dòng)主題是“寫摘要”(Writeasummary)。要求學(xué)生在讀完關(guān)于海嘯的新聞報(bào)道之

后,參考教科書中提供的摘要示范,為單元主篇閱讀“TheNighttheEarthDidn'tSleep”編寫摘要。

寫摘要是課程標(biāo)準(zhǔn)就應(yīng)用類文體對(duì)學(xué)生提出的寫作要求之一,它能培養(yǎng)學(xué)生提煉關(guān)鍵信息以及概括、

歸納要點(diǎn)的高階思維能力,同時(shí)還是培養(yǎng)和提高學(xué)生分析、歸納,總結(jié)等思維能力的重要方法。

學(xué)情分析:

授課對(duì)象為安寧中學(xué)太平學(xué)校高一3班學(xué)生。本班學(xué)生英語處于中等水平,學(xué)習(xí)熱情高漲,態(tài)

度認(rèn)真,刻苦努力,但基礎(chǔ)相對(duì)薄弱,詞匯量很小。整體來看,本班學(xué)生能用簡單的英語提取信息、

處理信息并簡單表達(dá)自己;但是運(yùn)用英語連貫地描述事件的能力較弱。
