"ing"的來歷

相傳很久很久以前有一個國王（king）,他非常喜歡sing,每天在王宮里唱

歌，連國家的事都扔在腦后不管，大臣們都很著急，但又都沒有辦法。

有一天，這個國王照例在王宮里引吭高歌，這時一個外國使節(jié)有事想求見

國王。大臣們進(jìn)去稟報了幾次，但是國王唱興正濃，就是不出來接見。大臣們

又不敢對外國使節(jié)說國王正在里面sing,怕人家生氣。正在大家不知怎么辦

時，有一個大臣想出了一個辦法，他假裝到里面去稟報國王，然后出來對外國

使節(jié)說國王有急事，他正在里面"ing",今天不能接見。外國使節(jié)不知"ing”是

怎么回事，只知道國王有急事，正在“ing",又不便多問，只得怏怏離去。

從此以后，每當(dāng)國王在唱歌，而又有人求見時，大臣們就用國王正在“ing”

打發(fā)來者。久而久之，“ing”就成了國王正在做某事的代用詞。

慢慢地這種說法流傳到了民間，人們只要一說起某人正在做某事，便在動

詞原形后面加上ing。后來為了區(qū)別不同的人稱，人們又在主語后面加上了be

動詞，形成了"be+現(xiàn)在分詞（presentparticiple）"形式的現(xiàn)在進(jìn)行時態(tài)。
