So,IdecidedoneChristmasIwouldtakeababystepinlearningtoask.I’ddoafewshifts(輪班)asa“bell-ringer”toseehowitfelttoaskperfectstrangerstogive.
IarrivedearlyandtriedtocalmmynervesasIapproachedthemanstanding
bythedonationbox.Forweeks,Ihadpreparedmyselfforthis.Iputtheinstructionsheetonmyrefrigeratorandre-readitmanytimes.ButIcouldnothavefeltworseasIslippedontheSalvationArmyvest(背心)andtookmyspotbesidethedonationbox.
