inourjudgmentsofourpastselves.Insteadwemayberathercriticalofourpreviousbehavior,emotionsand
personaltraits.Wemayuseourpastprimarilytoconstructamorepositiveself-imageinthepresent.Putanother
way,becausewemayrecognizeflaws(瑕疵)inourpastselFsbehavior,wetendtodistanceourselvesfromthe
personweoncewere.
