PerhapstoavoidtheGalileoproblem,theNobelFoundationdidstateclearlythat

theawardbegivenonlytolivingpeople;thatrulewasmadeformalinthe197Cs.But

theruleagainstposthumous(死后的)awardshasnowbeenviolatedseveraltimes—most

recentlythismonth,whentheprizeinmedicinewasgiventoDr.RalphM.Steinman,

ascientistatRockefellerUniversity,whodiedthreedaysbeforehiselecticn.His
