Helicopterexternalmountbucketsforfirefighting

1Scope

Thisdocumentspecifiesthestructureandmaterials,requirements,inspectionrules,marking,packaging,transportation,storageandlifetimeofhelicopterexternalmountbucketsforfirefighting(bucketsforshort).Thedocumentdescribestestmethodsofthebuckets.

Thisdocumentisapplicabletothebucketswhichuserubber-coatedfabricsasbucketbody.

Placethebucketattheinitialpositionwhichis3mabovethewatersurfaceofapoolwithadepthofnotlessthan2.5m.Starttheoperatingsystemandrecordthestarttime.Lowerthebucketquicklyintothepooltocollectwater.Liftthebucketquicklytoitsinitialpositionafterfillingthewater.Recordthetimetakenofthewholeprocessaswaterfillingtime,inseconds(s).Weighandrecordthefull-loadmassm1,inkilograms(kg).Calculatethefull-loadvolumeV,expressedinlitre(L),byformula(1).

6.3.4Releaseresponsetime

Afterwatercollecting,pressthereleasebuttontodischargewater.takemeasurementssimultaneouslyusingelectronicstopwatchesbytwopeople.

Recordthetimebetweenpressingthewaterreleasebuttonandstartingdischargingthewaterinthebucketasreleaseresponsetime,inseconds(s).

Theaverageoftwomeasurementsobtainedbytwopeopleindividuallyisrecordedasoncemeasurementresult.Theaverageofthetwoparallelresultsisregardedasthetestresult.

6.3.5Waterleakagevolume

Collectwateraccordingto6.3.3,andrecordthefull-loadmass,m1.Afterhangingstaticallyfor20min,weighandrecordagainasthemassm2.CalculatethewaterleakagevolumeV1,expressedinlitreperminutes(L/min)byformula(2).

7Inspectionrules

7.1Typetest

TypetestscoversallthetestitemsspecifiedinClause5.Typetestsshallbecarriedoutunderoneofthefollowingcircumstances.

a)Agreedbythecontract.

b)Forapprovalasanewproductortheproductproducedinanewplant.

c)Afterputintoproduction,wheneveranymajorchangeinequipment,rawmaterialsusedorprocessoccurs.

d)Suspendproductionfor6monthsormore,andproductionresumes.

e)Theresultsofroutinetestaresignificantlydifferentfromlastones.

7.2Routinetest

7.2.1Rubbercompoundsshallbetestedperbatchforhardness,low-temperaturebrittlenessandhot-airaging.

7.2.2Rubber-coatedfabricsshallbetestperbatchfortensilestrengthandthickness.

7.2.3Finishedproductsshallbecheckedonebyoneforappearance.Sampleoneproductperbatchrandomlyforwaterleakagevolumetest.

7.3Batching

7.3.1Forrubbercompounds,abatchisdefinedasnomorethan5rollsunderthesamemillandthesameprocessmanufacturedbythesameteam.

7.3.2Forrubber-coatedfabrics,abatchisdefinedasnomorethan500munderthesamemachineandthesameprocessmanufacturedbythesameteam.

7.3.3Forfinishedproducts,abatchisdefinedasproductsdeliveredatonetime.

7.4Qualification

7.4.1Typetest

IfallthetestresultsmeettherequirementsspecifiedinClause5,itisdeemedasqualified.Ifanyofthetestresultsdoesnotmeettherequirements,itisdeemedasunqualified.

7.4.2Routinetest

Fortheappearanceinspection,theproductshallberejectedifitsappearancedoesnotmeettherequirements.

Forthebatch-by-batchtest,ifalltheresultsmeettherequirements,theproductsaredeemedasqualified.Ifanyoftheresultsdoesnotmeettherequirements,doublesamplesshallbetakenfromthesamebatchtorecheckforthenonconformities.Iftherecheckresultsmeettherequirements,thebatchofproductsisdeemedasqualified,otherwiseitisunqualified.

8Marking,packaging,transportation,storageandlifetime

8.1Marking

Theproductshallbemarkedwithatleastthefollowinginformation:

a)Areferencetothisdocument,i.e.:T/CSTM00541;
