Because it is related to daily life, students are interested in the topic. The unit includes warming up, listen
2、ing, speaking, reading, language study, integrating skills and writing. Listening and speaking skills are belong to this period. In the speaking and language study parts, students can learn how to express his or her hobbies including now and the past. Its essential for students in the learning of En
3、glish. So I will try my best to help students practice, and I will deal with reading skill next period.2. Teaching aimsKnowledge aims1. Get students to learn and master the new words, phrases and sentences. For example, collection, coin, hate, pop music, be interested in, be fond of , used to do and
4、 so on. 2. Use be interested in, love, enjoy, prefer, be fond of, like to express likes and dislikes:Ability aims1. Improve students speaking ability and listening ability;2. Get the students to learn in group, make them learn “teamwork”Emotional aims1. Teach students how to express their own hobbie
5、s;2. Help students understand the text 3. Teaching important points: a. Be able to express words, phrases and sentences in English.b. Enable to use: used to do c. Can say something about their own hobbies now and the past.4. Teaching difficult points:Be able to present their group members hobbies no
6、w and in the past in oral English.Part 2. The analysis of StudentsIn this age, students are full of curiosity and eager to show what they know, they can hardly study in the classroom. So I should make the class lively and design a few activities to help them understand the dialogue and can retell it
7、 quickly. They also eager to know something about others. In this part, I will give the chance to them to know others opinions. In this case, they will be interested in the class.Part 3.The analysis of teaching methods, and teaching aids1. Teaching methods As we all know: the main instructional aims
8、 of learning English in the Middle School is to cultivate students abilities of listening, speaking, reading, writing and their good sense of the English language. So in this lesson Ill mainly use “Communicative” teaching method, “Audio-visual” teaching method and “Task-based” teaching method and “C
9、lassified” teaching method. Task-based learning is the main method. It can help students remember the knowledge easily. That is to say, Ill let the students get a better understanding of the key structures. Ill give the students some tasks and arrange some kinds of activities, like talking, watching
10、 CAI, and reading in roles.2. Teaching aidsIn this period, I will use power point and stamp collections to make the students be interested in the class, and help students master the new knowledge.Part 4. Learning strategies1. Teach Ss how to be successful language learners.2. Teach Ss how to develop
11、 the speaking skill and listening skill.3. How to communicate with others; how to learn cooperation;4. Get the Ss to form good learning habitsPart 5 Teaching proceduresStep one: warm up1. Review hobbies. Purpose:( Ask Ss to share their hobbies, review the key words and phrases in section A)2. Recite
12、 Section A 1aCheck the homework. Step two: presentationTeacher takes out a stamp collection and talks about her hobby.Purpose: to attack Ss attention, Make the Ss eager to know the teachers hobby. According to the curiosity, the teacher will show the new language point “ used to do sth”Step three: p
13、ractice1. Pair work ( using by “ I used to enjoy,but now I dont like it. I like/ love”). Purpose: to practice the new phrase “used to do”, strengthen Ss speaking .2. Listen to the tape and answer questions.(1) Who collects stemps?-Maria(2) What hobbies did Michael use to have?-He used to collect bas
14、eball cards.3. Listen again, circle T/ F4. Read freely and loudly, then follow the tape, and answer Ss questions.Purpose: to correct Ss pronunciation and intonation . Then answer Ss questions which they dont understand or make mistakes easily. It can make Ss know how to ask questions, and how to sol
15、ve the problems they will meet.5. Retell the dialogue6. Role play7.
