1、Section II Grammar時間狀得從句和麝側狀錯從句時間狀語從句1 - when, while 和 as（l）when在引導時間狀語從句中的用法when既可引導延續(xù)性動作，也可引導瞬時性動作，可用于主句 和從句動作同時發(fā)生或從句動作先于主句動作發(fā)生。例如：When I lived in the countryside, I used to go fishing with my fellows.（延續(xù)性動作）我住在鄉(xiāng)下時，常和伙伴們?nèi)メ烎~。When the lecture finished, the audience warmly clapped Yi Zhongtian.（瞬時性動作

2、）演講結束時，聽眾向易中天熱烈鼓掌。when可以用作并列連詞，其意義為“那時，這時”，相當于and at this/that time。例如：We were having a meeting when someone broke in.我們正在開會，這時一個人闖了進來。when還表示原因，相當于since（既然，考慮到）例如：It was foolish of you to do it when you have realised its impossibility. 既然你已意識到不可能做這件事，卻去做了，真夠愚蠢的。溫馨提示：當when引導的從句是系表結構，且主語和主句的主 語一致，其表語

3、又是一個名詞時，就可以用以as引導的省略句來代替 when引導的從句。例如：As a young man (=When he was a young man), he was fond of reading.他年輕時，喜歡讀書。(2)while的用法while引導的動作必須是延續(xù)性的，側重主句動作和從句動作的 相比性。例如：Dont talk with others while your mouth is full.吃東西時別對著別人說話。 while作為并列連詞，意為“而，卻”，表示對比。例如：I like staying at home on weekends, while my wife

4、 enjoys going shopping 周末我喜歡待在家里，而妻子喜歡去購物。 while作從屬連詞噫為“盡管”，有時還等于although 例如: While (Although) I am willing to help, I do not have enough time.盡管我樂意幫忙，但沒有足夠的時間。(3)as的用法as可引導延續(xù)性動作，表示從句和主句兩個動作交替進行或同時 發(fā)生，可譯為“一邊，(一邊)”或“隨著”。例如：She humed to work, looking behind at her son as she went out.她匆忙去上班，邊岀門邊回頭看兒子。

8、語動詞一般是非延續(xù)性動詞，主句的謂語動詞是 延續(xù)性的或者是反復發(fā)生的動作。since從句的時態(tài)如果是一般過去 時，相應地，主句的時態(tài)是現(xiàn)在完成時或是現(xiàn)在完成進行時。例如：I have never heard of him since he left home自他離家岀走，我至今沒聽到他的消息。They have been working for the factory since they came here.他們自來到這里，就一直為這個工廠干活。在“It is+段時間+since從句”句型中，時間的計算一律從 since從句的動作完成或狀態(tài)結束時算起。例如：It is three years

9、 since I moved to London.我搬到倫敦三年了。It is ten years since Pve seen her.我已經(jīng)十年沒見她了。二、原因狀語從句引導原因狀語從句的常用連詞有because（因為）,as（由于），since（既然），now that（既然）等。because語氣最強，表示的是直接的理 由。可用來回答why引導的問 句，可用于強調(diào)句型它所引導的從句常放 在主句后as語氣較弱，較口語化，表示較明 顯的原因或已知的事實它所引導的從句常放 在主句前since /now that語氣較弱,所表示的原因為人們 已知的事實。常譯為“既然”since 常和 now
