2、is section introduces the issues raised by the literature in this unit e.g. revenge and jealousy.Depending on the time you have available, you could ask students to create additionalsituationsthatcause people to fall out.This section starts with identifyingThe first two tasks encourage students to f
3、orm an understanding of the connections between the mainReading(閱讀)Reading for learningconnections between characters. It also encourages students to think about the themes raised in the novel and how they are relevant to them.Vocabulary and GrammarTasks 1 and 2 work on the meaning of thematic words
4、 from the text. Task 3 looks at a range of phrases from the reading text.The grammar section looks at linking words and phrases.Beyond the TextStudents discuss how they will behave when treated unfairly. They also look at quotes from famous books talk about their opinions.characters. Tasks 3 and 4 a
5、nalyse some of the main themes of the novel and Task 5 personalises these themes.Depending on the time you have you could extend the discussion into other novels students have read and how they related to the themes and characters.The first two vocabulary tasks draw on topic vocabulary from the text
6、.The last vocabulary tasks can be extended by asking student to change the phrases so that they are true for themselves.The Grammar Focuspart looks at linking words and phrases. There is lots of potential for extending this grammar point into a mini-writing task. For example, asking students to writ
7、e a reaction to the reading text using the linking words.Beyond the text This section could be extended by asking students to find quotes from their favourite Chinese novels and translating them into English.Reading for doingStudents read and react to a poem called The Paradoxical Commandment.This s
8、ection should take less time than section B as the texts are less complicated. They focus on developing students ' everyday reading skills.The final task provides a good opportunity for drilling and repeating fixed expressions.Guided WritingStudents write the minutes of a meeting.Before the less
9、on you could find examples of minutes on the Internet to show students.When doing Task 5 you might need to provide a model for more support.Audio/Video LabStudents listen to two people talking about novels they are reading.They also listen to someone discussing the things they would take to a desser
10、t island.For each part of the video you might want to play it twice.Tasks 8 can be extended in to a discussion/game if you have time.Wrap-upThis section provides a quick review of the vocabulary, grammar, writing and theme of the unit.Tasks could be set for individual work or done in pairs.For Task 1, Task 2 and Task 3 on the language work, you might want to set them up as a team game or class quiz.For Task 4 and Task 5, they could be set as small group discussions or down as a reflective writing task.課后學(xué)習(xí)設(shè)計(jì)作業(yè)Finish all the tasks i
