Background and Significance(選題背景及意義) People can not live without Communication. Communication is everywhere. Even when they are alone, people are bombarded with co
2、mmunication. Human communicationthat is, the ability to use language, the ability to exchange ideas with people around us in different cultures. Communication with others is the essence of what it means to be human. Ancient and modern, Chinese and foreign, human nature is the same. But due to the ge
3、ographical environment, historical background, developing process and other aspects of difference, every nation has its characteristics. For example, American society pay attention to individual rights and interests and freedom; But Chinese society pay attention to moral life and interpersonal inter
4、dependence. People from different cultures have their own cultural background and often use the way of thinking, values and language habits of native culture that formed under the influence of the understand and use the language. In the communication with foreigners, only to master the different cul
5、tural practices and understanding of cultural differences, can we happily and successfully achieve the purpose of exchange with each other. For example, When we do business with people from different cultures or different countries, we need to communicate with them, we need exchange different views
6、about the business on the matter of information. Obviously well-intentioned words, due to differences in values, cultural and so on, sometimes could lead to misunderstandings, more harm than good, and even annoy each other, or make other people sad, did not reach the communication purpose, even maki
7、ng things more complex. In China, people's awareness of the importance of cross-cultural understanding is relatively low. They think, as long as the understanding of foreign words and grammar, the remaining things can be solved by common sense or habit. However, knowledge does not necessarily un
8、iversal, it may be different according to different cultural background. In the current process of intercultural communication, there are still situations that due to the cultural differences and lead to a misunderstanding and bring a lot of inconvenience. The fundamental purpose of learning foreign
9、 language is to achieve intercultural communication, and to communicate with people from different cultural backgrounds. Communicating and establishing relationships with people from different cultures can lead to a whole host of benefits, including healthier communities; increased international, na
10、tional, and local commerce; reduced conflict; and personal growth through increased tolerance. Through open and honest intercultural communication, people can work together to achieve goals that benefit everyone, regardless of group or culture, including the global community in the home, business, o
11、r neighborhood. Healthy communities support all community members and strive to understand, appreciate, and acknowledge each member. As mentioned earlier in this text, when we come together with a person from a different culture, we may feel uncertain, apprehensive and anxious due to the cultural di
12、versity. Such feelings are stressful. The analysis of foreign language communication in the cultural diversity phenomenon is to understand each country's cultural diversity, master the basic knowledge and skills needs in cross-cultural communication in some subtle problem, and to make the proper

Literature Review(文獻(xiàn)綜述) The process o
16、f doing research in this subject is really strenuous, but at the same time inspiring. By strenuous, I mean I have plunged in and attentively consulted all relevant information from books, journals, technical literature and the internet. By inspiring, I mean such information enlightens me, whether di
17、rectly or indirectly, as to my subject from many significant aspects and thereafter gives birth to my methods of thinking. A large number of scholars and specialists have made great effort to study Social Diversity. They have carried out numerous laboratory experiments and field observations to illu
18、minate the darkness of this field. The following studies are worth mentioning: Holzer first put forward the concept of intercultural communication. He put forward" high context culture" ( high context culture ) and" cultural context" ( low context culture ) concept, and these ide
19、as were reviews published in 1959" silent language" of a book. The book has been included in our understanding of culture and communication of basic questions, such as" what is culture"," culture is spread"," time will tell"," space talk". Holzer pay
20、s much attention to nonverbal communication problems, the book spent nearly20% chapters to discuss the problem. This book was a great success,1961-1969years issued in 505000volumes, is also used in numerous books, magazines and other publications, journals, and was translated into 6 languages. ( Mas
21、ao Kunihiro )Since the creation of intercultural communication study, this subject has achieved great development, many American University School of communication (Department ) have opened a cross-cultural communication course, the foreign language teaching in our country, international relations a
22、nd foreign professional also opened the intercultural communication course. In 1970, the International Communication Association also under the cross culture communication branch; in 1972, the first session of the intercultural communication studies international conference was held in Tokyo of Japa
23、n;1974, international / intercultural education, training and Research Association ( SIETAR ) in the United States, Lanzhou was officially announced on 1998; international intercultural communication society. Cross cultural aspects of the book, magazine is published in succession, such as" Inte
24、rcultural Communication Reader" ( Larry A . Samovar and Richard E . Porter,1972)," Intercultural Communication" ( L.S Harms,1973)," Intercultural Communication Science" (John C . Condon and Fathi Yousef,1975). Until the nineteen seventies metaphase, quite a number of America

From a large number of cross cultural dissemination of books and articles on the subject, Holzer still maintained great influence, his writings are still the highest cited rate. The scholar of our country probably in the nineteen eighties began to pa
26、y attention to intercultural communication studies of this field, research priorities for foreign language teaching and cultural relations.
